Compare the literary style of the declaration of indepedence with the u.s constitution?
The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are both very formally written. However, the Declaration of Independence was written to claim independence while the Constitution is only setting up laws for an already independent nation. The authors of the Declaration wanted to affect its readers by explaining exactly what was being done and why it was happening. The Constitution only wanted to affect the readers by giving rules and rights to people and the government. So in contrast, the Declaration was written to be more assertive and demanding, and the Constitution was written to be more assuring and promising of rights and powers. Both documents were very affective to the people and each is more affective in different ways.
