Who receives more training Army Rangers or Marine Corps Scout Snipers?

You're really not likely to find much, if any difference as far as amount of training goes, but the Rangers and Special Forces are very different units, and each fills a very distinct and separate role than the other does. With each branch, their training will be related to their role - in the case of the Rangers, they are an elite infantry unit, and that will be their main focus. Special Forces does have an operational role, but they're geared more towards organising indigenous forces to support the US mission, and will train in areas such as linguistics and learning various customs of different areas where they'll be expected to operate.

Is the marines harder then the army?

To all please understand this applies to only basic enlistment.

Special Forces is a whole nother story

The Marines are a combat unit and nothing can be more difficult to experience then the type of combat they face, they are considered the elite warriors, every single last one of them, but for some that is not difficult to be at all and is a way of life.

For some sustaining war space like the Army and US air force do and the circumstances that come with being a occupational force as well as a combat force that make them more difficult. Consistency can be more difficult then vigilant assaults and visa versa.

Marine Core training by far is more difficult and longer(BASIC TRAINING) but all branches of the military will send you on the longest journey you can't even imagine...

Be more specific with the question..

Marines often experience with there own eyes more of the tragedy in comparison of those in the other branches...

Can you get a college diploma with out a high school diploma or a GED?

Many will let you in once you reach a certain age; it is one of the options for the requirement of entry in some places.

Community colleges in your area may also admit you.

In addition, if you are still of high school age and can score well on the SAT or ACT, you may qualify for an early entrance program. These are offered by many different colleges and universities, from Shimer College to the University of Washington.

What are the chances of dying in the Marines?

Your chances of dying in the Marine Corps depend mainly on your chosen MOS (job). Some jobs are more dangerous than others.

if you're worried about death or your safety, the Air Force is probably the way you want to go, no disrespect to them, as they were once in my consideration for my enlistment. The reason why the Air Force is the way to go for enlistment is because the guys who fight as pilots on the front lines in air, are commissioned officers or warrant officers. Unlike the other branches of the military, in the Air Force, the top brass goes out in fight while the enlisted guys do the pit stop work. The actual fighting is done by the officers. As a Marine, it is your duty to be willing to lay your life on the line day in and day out for your country and do anything to defend it and the other Marines in your team or unit. A Marine is only as strong as the man next to him. Semper Fi.

Can you rejoin the marine corps after being discharged with another than honorable?

just was wondering if i had an honorabe discharge can i re enlists in the army at any time and if i do; do i have to start over or can i enlists back at E4 were i left off? please help me out really thinking about enlisting in the army again.

Can you join the military even if you have had 3 prior knee surgery's?

Yes, you can. The degree of curve cannot be more than 30 of Thoracic and 20 of Lumbar. You can't join also if it has an obvious affect on physical performance. I personally just signed up and am fully processed to go into Airborne Rangers and I have a massive upper curve. It's all about endurance, if I can join the Army Rangers with an upper curve, you can join the military too! Stay happy, tell yourself you're healing, and workout your back muscles and you can join the military with scoliosis.

I tried to enter the army many years ago, I was turned down, I had my Scolisois surgery in 1989 and they would not entertain me joining at all, you will be asked to have a medical anyway, if their medical professor feels you are not fit enough, they will refuse you. It wouldn't hurt to join up and at least find out, their rules may be different now, however, because I had surgery I was deemed not fit enough, my curve was 76º at surgery. Having a good muscle core will help your spine and therefore the army may well be good for your Scoliosis, they will at least keep you fit and supple, there are many Ballerinas with Scoliosis but because they have very fit muscles in the spine, they hardly notice pain or problems, until they stop Ballet! ;) I hope all goes well for you and that you are accepted into the army. This question really depends on where your curve is, what the degree of curve you have and what position you would assume in the army. For example, I had surgery in 1989 to correct my Scoliosis and I could not entertain going into the army (depsite the fact they wouldn't take me), I can't pick up heavy objects and I certainyl couldn't run with a back pack on! Exercise is good for a Scoliosis curve, if you have fit strong back muscles, this will support your spine more, if you have a 20º curve you shoukdn't have problems, however if you have over 50º curve, you are considered for surgery, the army would not allow you entry for this reason.

Are the Navy Seals or Green Berets a more elite group in your opinion?

This question calls for an opinion-based answer.

All the special operations forces of America are tough. Whether Green Beret,Pararescuemen, Combat Controller, Marine Recon, Army Ranger, or Navy SEALS. But to answer your question, the fact of the matter, is no.

Navy SEALs are indeed tough. But of the U.S. special operations forces, the toughest, or force with the hardest training is U.S. Air Force Pararescue. Pararescuemen are the guys that save the SEALs when therye in trouble.

HOPE I HELPED!

Actually, no, Navy SEALS do not use Air Force Pararescue troops to "save" them. The Navy SEALS use the SWCC teams that they work with within the Navy. Also the 90% dropout rate for PJs include, DOR's along with failures to pass the PSAT. 70% is only the DOR rate of the Navy SEALS BUD/S training.

yes he's right, pj dont help navy seals, swccs are the navy seals best friends and get them out of trouble if the run into it.

NAVY SEALS ARE THE MOST ELITE TRAINED FORCES IN THE U.S MILITARY, more elite than U.S. Air Force Pararescue

Navy Seals do not use Force Pararescue troops to save them them lol

Navy seals work along side The British S.B.S and British S.A.S. Like in recent news where S.A.S took out 50 top Taliban commanders, the attacks, tactics, training was all done and prepared by the S.A.S. Navy seals work under and along side the S.A.S and S.B.S. Navy seals cross train with the S.B.S as there the same thing just diffrent names, except S.B.S was around almost 30yrs before seals were even born. hence why S.B.S e.t.c lead the way as ther have alot more experience.

Navy Seals get some tough training but for the most part they don't have a lot of time in the military or actual experience. Most Navy Seal teams sit around on deployments and don't get used much. The navy is too afraid of losing a sailor they put alot of money into. The attrition rate for a navy seal is around 70 percent. The attrition rate for pararescue is close to 90 percent and that doesn't include the PAST. The PAST is like the test you take to become a seal before BUDS. Special forces attrition is around 80 to 85 percent. Marine force recon attrition is about 60 percent. But, Navy seals and pararescue are typically younger and don't have alot of military experience. Special forces students are typically seasoned soldiers. They are typically in their 30's and more mature. The average time in service for a special forces soldier in the army is around 10 years. Also, in actual conflicts the army and marines are the ones that get hands on experience. Army special forces soldiers are gone all the time, sometimes 10 months out of the year. A navy seal would be lucky to be deployed longer than several months out of a year. I also know most pararescueman will lap a seal in a pool or a track.

Pararescuemen do save SEALs, you don't have a clue. In March of 2002, a team of SEALs were inserted into Shahi-Kot Valley (Afghanistan) to provide observation on the peak of Takur Ghar. An MH-47 Chinook called Razor 03 landed in the SEALs LZ in order to pick up the SEALs, but it was hit by an RPG. As it took off, Petty Officer First Class Neil C. Roberts fell out the back of the open ramp. Razor 03 couldn't help him because the chopper was damaged. It crash-landed 4 miles away. Razor 04, another Chinook, attempted to help Roberts, but the team came under fire. Two SEALs, and an Air Force CCT (named John A. Chapman) were killed. The team requested a Quick Reaction Force, which consisted of 19 Rangers, an Air Force TACP, and a three man Special Tactics Unit. They deployed in Razor 01 and Razor 02. As they exited the aircraft, several men were killed. After a fierce firefight, in short, a PJ named SrA Jason Cunningham was killed PERFORMING MEDICAL TREATMENT FOR RANGERS AND NAVY SEALS. He was former Navy and passed the SEAL physical test, but didn't want that job and crossed into the Air Force to go the PJ route. You talk like your SEALS are so elite (which they are to some extent), you say that they don't need any PJ's saving their necks, but they had to call in a Ranger force, and PJ's to help their SEAL friend... Hmmm, if I was a "high and mighty" SEAL why would I need the Army Rangers to help me (besides the need for firepower, even then, there were only 19 of them)? I'd at least want somebody CSAR oriented to have my back! Also, I know two men who were former SEALs that cross trained to become PJ's. One said the Pararescue route is MUCH TOUGHER but he passed, and the other guy washed out, his biggest problem being the water confidence... As a former SEAL!

Children children please... calm down. You can not really argue whether the Navy SEALs are better and the Airforce Pararescue (Pjs) because their respective purposes and objectives are completely different.

Navy SEALs are traded in direct combat, they go out and fight some serious enemies who standard forces could not take on

Airforce PJs are essentially the paramedics of the special forces (Kinda like your 911 EMS but on steroids). They don't go out on missions specifically to go fight bad guys, they go out to save injured American or Allied forces. This includes anything from a simple medivac (A unit goes to the location of the injured, extracts him/her, treats them and transports them to a hospital) to holding the grounds of an American (or allied) unit until that unit can get to safety.

SEALs are the best fighters

PJs are the best rescuers

Understand the difference now?

AS TO THE ORIGINAL QUESTION: Because all the special forces have different duties that all vary slightly or greatly from each other, you can not really say that one is superior to the other. It is only ones upmost personal opinion as to whether the training of a particular special forces is harder/more dangerous than another, as that is really the only grounds you can really compare different special forces.

Placement of ribbons on marine service bravos?

As per the Marine Corps order...."Ribbon bars will be centered 1/8 inch above and parallel to the top edge of the upper left pocket of dress "B" coats, service coats, and men's khaki shirts. When marksmanship badges are worn, ribbon bars will be centered over the pocket with the bottom edge of the ribbon bar

1/8 inch above the widest holding bar of the marksmanship badge(s)."

Do you have to be a high school graduate to join the United States Marine Corps?

The Marine Corps will require a High School Diploma. The GED may be a possibility; however you should contact the nearest Marine Corps Recruiting Office for detailed information. The Marine Corps at this time (2009) will only allow about 5% of the recruiting mission to be GEDs, and the rest require a high school diploma. With enough college credits you do not need a high school diploma and will be counted as a high school graduate. I'm not sure how many credits are needed, though.

Island site of the bloodiest battle in Marine history?

Iwo Jima

According to the USMC and which has been hammered through every Marine's head since WWII, Tarawa is the bloodiest battle of the island hopping battles. Iwo Jima is commonly mistaken as the bloodiest as it had a much higher profile because of the famous "staged" photo.

Iwo had the most deaths, 26,800 total (20,000 Japanese, 6,800 US)but the battle took 35 days, 766 total deaths per day, (194 Marines per day).

Tarawa had 5,700 total deaths (4,700 Japanese, 1,000 US) in 3 days, 1,900 total deaths per day, (333 Marines per day).

I think it boils down to how you quantify "bloodiest".

The Marines must feel that 333 Marine deaths per day is bloodier than 194 per day. I would tend to agree.

Which MOS in the Marines will most likely see combat?

Traditionally that would be infantry, but in recent years soldiers in EOD and transportation/supply could make a legitimate claim to it as well. All soldiers in the US Army after are ultimately infantry.

Marine recon vs force recon?

In all cases, the units are extremely well trained for the missions that they are designed to accomplish. They are not expected to be able to do the same things, so it would not make sense to try and compare the two types of units.

Do the navy SEALS have swords?

All Navy and Marine Corps Commissioned Officers are allowed to wear swords with a ceremonial uniform. It makes no difference of whether or not they're a Navy SEAL or not.

If you're talking about combat swords, SEAL personal weapons are the individual operator's choice, though swords are a bit clumsy for today's combat techniques. A small knife can do the job a lot better and with less noise.

Who has better snipers the USMC or Royal Marine Commandos?

Both are highly trained in their craft. If any difference exists it may rest in the weapon itself instead of actual skill or training, The standard Marine Sniper Rifle of 2011 is the M-40A3 which has replaced the M-40A1. Each is hand crafted and built by a Marine and the production rate equals one every day, In addition the standard round is the M118LR in 7.62mm and each round is hand loaded by a Marine Weapons repairman at Quantico, Virginia. This attention to detail insures tighter groups, consistent loads and improved rounds on target beyond 1,000 yards. The new rifle has an adjustable cheek piece and recoil pad for shooting comfort along with a swivel bipod, six quick-detach swivel mounts and a mount rail to alternate between the 10 power scope and the ANPVS-10 night scope. These additions put an extra two pounds of weight onto each Sniper, which leads some to be less than pleased.

The Army's M-24 Sniper Weapon System is a perfectly acceptable weapon and it is essentially a Remington 700 Rifle and which has long been the prime SWAT Sniper Rifle.

Do enlisted Women where dresses for the marine corps ball?

They have the option of wearing either their dress blues or a gown. For female Marines it is really up to their Commanders, I have never been to a ball where females Marines were not wearing their uniforms. SSgt 13 years active duty.

Should the US use military action to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons?

no, i do not believe that it is just fo the us to use military force to take nuclear weapons from a country. This takes away a country's defense and deeply inplies that we believe that we are the all powerful country. We should not be allowed to decide what countries are an actual military threat.
