The Navy SEALs go through very rigorous training, and everybody knows it. However, they ARE limited (which people don't know) as they are trained in small unit tactics, etc. Example, you would not send the SEALs to take out an army. Individual people, yes, but not large forces. The aren't Superman! I think it is because they have a lot of publicity and since Bin Laden and True Valor and Call of Duty, etc., Special Forces and the SEALs get so much attention so people think they can do everything.

Why is it called C school in the Navy?
Because, based on the original US Navy training pipeline arrangement, the US Navy Class "C" school was the third school in the in-rating (or, within the job title) sequence.
From what I read in a recruiting brochure while processing for enlistment into the US Navy in 1981, The Class "A" schools all teach entry-level skills, the Class "B" schools (used to) teach intermediate level skills, and Class "C" schools teach that specialize on the specific equipment that the trainees will be working on in the fleet. According to the brochure, the Class "B" school curriculum was folded into the Class "C" school courses.
And there is even deeper training beyond that, that are simply called "Advanced Schools" or courses (actually), lasting days or weeks.

An OTH doesn't necessarily impair you in pursuing a new career, but it can level some bias against you when it comes to employment. If you've completed one enlistment and you have a DD-214 with an RE1 to show for it before you got your OTH, it's easier to work around.

What is U.S. Navy Rivron how do you become one and what do you do is it kind of lk SWCC?
The U.S. Navy's Riverine Squadrons (3 as of last year), under the command of Riverine Group 1 and attached to the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC) are not like the Navy's SWCC's at all. SWCC's are trained for SEAL Team insertion and extraction - Rivron's patrol rivers and similar waterways for maritime security and cooperation. Established in 2006 and based out of the Naval Amphibious Base in Little Creek, Virginia (where mosquitoes are many), Rivron's have been deployed to Iraq in support of the war there, having a major impact on arms trafficking on the rivers. The first deployment of such brown water vessels for the Navy in 35 years, they are the descendants of the Navy's river patrol boat squadrons from the Vietnam era (seen in the movie "Apocalypse Now").
Though the sailors of the Rivron's come from all rates, the one common element is that they must undergo Marine Corps Infantry training. As a former Navy Small Arms Instructor, I can attest to the fact the few sailors have the knowledge or training for small arms use on a regular basis, let alone combat situations.
Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen (SWCC's), are a lot more highly trained in many areas. They are masters of SEAL insertion and extraction in all types of weather, conditions, waterways, oceans, environments, etc. The more difficult challenge of the two, SWCC are attached to the Special Boat Teams of the Special Warfare Community.
