First to have USB2.0 (Hi-Speed) capable hardware. Only in Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) USB2.0 is not supported and USB2.0 drivers have to be installed manually.

To know is you have USB2.0 drivers & hardware:

In Window XP:"Right click my computer, then "manage", select device manager and scroll down to USB controllers. Click the + then look for the word "Enhanced" in either of the host controller listed. If there's 1 with Enhanced, then you have USB2.0 capable hardware.

Kingston G2 and G3 are somehow having similar speed but the price of G3 is a little cheaper than its G2 counterpart.

The answer to your question is NO. The HP 4200 does not come with a USB port, only parallel and optional ethernet ports. You can get a parallel to USB cable if you do not have a parallel port on your computer.

I personally keep at least 3 copies of my data (be it pictures or whatever) one on a network drive, one on my local machine, and one on my usb drive. i trust hard drives more myself, but both flash and hard drives have a tendancy to go bad. always keep more than one copy of your data just in case!! get a good backup program (i like genie backup myself) and an external drive (western digital makes a great 1tb drive that can do raid1 and have redundancy)
