Can you get an allergic reaction to peanuts by touching just a teeny bit of peanut oil or salt?

The risk of someone dying from touching peanut oil is low. Most serious allergic reactions happen when someone eats their allergen or gets it in their mouth, eyes, or nose. This means that someone would have to touch their allergen and then touch their mouth, eyes, or nose without washing their hands first (this is called "cross-contamination"). Also, most peanut oils are highly refined, which means that peanut proteins (the part of the peanut that causes allergic reactions) have been removed. Crude or unrefined peanut oils would still contain peanut protein and pose a greater risk.

Can you substitute margarine for crisco?

What is the best substitute for safflower oil?

Canola oil is a vegetable oil, pressed from the seeds of the "canola plant" - an engineered variant of the rape plant, which was given a trademarked and much more marketable name in the 1970s. Like corn, peanut, safflower, sunflower, soybean, cottonseed, and some other vegetable oils, canola has a neutral taste, so there's really nothing about it to strongly dislike.

The various canola trade associations call it the "healthiest" oil, because it is lower in saturated fat than any other common oil, yet high in unsaturated fats and free of cholesterol and trans fat.

If you don't have it on hand, use any other neutral vegetable oil. If you can tolerate a bit of flavor in the finished product, you could use an oil with a stronger taste (for example, olive oil). Be sure the flavor matches what you're making, though ... olive oil is probably fine for mayonnaise, but walnut oil may be a better choice in a cake (that said, I'm aware of cake recipes that specifically call for olive oil; you're the cook, do whatever tastes good to you).

What is the density of avocado oil?

sumthing.............. ^--- WTF? Why the Hell did you bother to answer if all you had was a snarky comment? Go piss on a fire hydrant if you want to brag to the world that you exist and are capable of leaving your insipid mark.

According to the Transportation Information Service of the German government at http://www.tis-gdv.de/tis_e/ware/oele/sesam/sesam.htm :

Sesame Oil - Density

0.919 - 0.934 cm3

All fats and oils have a particular density (approx. 0.9 g/cm3). With a rise in temperature, however, density diminishes, thereby leading at the same time to an increase in volume. This behavior is described by the coefficient of cubic expansion and is known as thermal dilatation.

The coefficient of cubic expansion amounts to: g = approx. 0.0007°C-1

As a rule of thumb, oils may be expected to increase in volume by 1% of their total volume for each 14°C temperature increase.

Is corn oil saturated or unsaturated fat?

Corn oil is mostly unsaturated. It contains about 13% saturated fatty acids.

How much does 1 gallon of soybean oil weigh?

If 1 gal of vegetable oil weighs 7.6lb then the formula to convert to 1 cup is

7.6 lb/gal X 1 gal/128 fl oz* X 8 fl oz/1 cup = 0.475 lb/cup.

*don't confuse liquid oz (fluid oz) with dry oz (oz). One is volume and the other is weight. They are not interchangeable.

Can you use vegetable oil to work out a glove?

Sure, it seemed to help loosen up my glove but, now I can't get the olive oil out of my glove. I guess it will dry out over time but, I used too much and now my glove is holding the olive oil and I can;t get it out. In hindsight, there are better ways to break in a glove that presents less of a mess.

Can you subsitute vegetable oil for sunflower oil?

Absolutely. I actually use vegetable oil instead of sunflower oil regularly. It makes the cake rise better and taste better too. Vegetable oil is a great substitute for many cooking oils. And canola oil works fairly well too for cakes and most baking. I dont hardly ever use Sunflower oil because it seems to leave behind a taste. And I don't really like it. But as I said, vegetable oil is a perfect substitute.

Is there acetic acid in soybean oil?

I don't think that there is acetic acid in soybean oil. Acetic acid, the second simplest carboxylic acid is found in vinegar, I think. And I haven't heard any research on acetic acid on oil. Maybe they are both an organic compound but soybean oil mainly compose of triglyceride, a fatty acid and a long alkyl chain. On the other hand, acetic acid is a carboxylic acid compose of alkane(ethane) and is called ethanoic acid. Have i answered your question? E-mail me at rustymateo@yahoo.com and you can tell me whether i have answered your question. By the way, is it for a research?

What metal is used as a catalyst to make margarine from vegetable oils?

You are talking about hydrogenated oils I imagine. Hydro as in water. I'm weak on the details, but it is how water is used to cause oils to become solids so that margarine can be made. If you look at the ingredients, there is quite a lot of water in it.

Can you substitute vegetable oil for peanut oil for deep frying turkey?

You absolutely can! There are even some turkey fryer oils that are already a peanut blend that are much cheaper. The only downside to veg oil is it will breakdown faster, meaning you may not get more uses out of it as you would peanut oil.
