Is there a difference between war time veterans and peace time veterans and do we honor peace time veterans on Veterans Day even tho they were on duty 24 7 if call to war?

Good question and one that many vets struggle with themselves. The best way I heard it put is Veteran's day is a day to celebrate both peacetime and wartime vets-- those who "stood watch" and those who 'stood firm." Both those who volunteered and those who were volunteered went where they were told and did what they were told. Not one peacetime vet would trade this nations 15 year long stretch of peace for a war time medal on their DD214 just so they can get a thank you from those who think their service isn't as deserving. However, all vets hope the goal is fighting for peace and then the mission is to maintain it. "All gave some, some gave all."

I think that we should honor veteran because they make sure we are safe, they make sure we do the right thing whether in War, the Military, or the Navy.
