yes you can, but make sure you do the following instructions. First, make sure that when you twist the proper colours back together, black with black, white with white or red with red if they are different that when you twist them back together you do not loose any fine wires from either end. They should always be the same polarity, so if you do you have to start over at the end you lost it at and make them equal wiring again. Then twist them together but make sure they are not too long but long enough for one of those coloured twist tops for protection of having a shortage electrically. Then take electrical tape and tape it completely. You then should be able to enjoy.
