Who will play Matrim Cauthon in 'The Eye of the World' movie?
A cast has not yet been chosen for the Wheel of Time movie, although the rights have been bought by Red Eagle Entertainment. However, many fans think that Chris Evans (the human torch from the Fantastic Four) is a good pick for Mat.
A woman Aes Sedia is a powerful being who was either born with or trained in the one power. But first they must go through a series of trials and training to reach that level. They start as novices and learn about many things and how to control the one power and also given chores and jobs to do to give them discipline. Then they go through a test which they can accept risking their lives in the process or they can Dennie the trial and keep being a novice until prepared or drop out of the white tower (the home and training grounds of the women Aes Sedia) and return home or travel the world. They can never come back once leaving unless on a job or holiday. After the test (if they pass) they become accepted and start to choose their own studies in what they want to do with the one power. Once they have learned a lot and someone (revealed in the book) thinks they are ready they will become full Aes Sedia and they will pick their coloured ajahs (which you will find more about in the book). If women Aes Sedia do a bad deed that needs extreme punishing they will be 'stilled' and most likely kill themselves in despair for loosing something that made them feel so good and powerful.
A male Aes Sedia is possibly an even stronger being who was born with the one power as well. It is a different case then the women though as most men go mad with the power because it is tainted by the dark one (kind of like the devil in our world). I will not reveal more about this situation as it may ruin the book. Men can not be trained because there are no male Aes Sedia that have lived long enough and that know how to train them and that can withstand the powerful taint the dark one put on the one power. If a male is discovered that could use the one power then they will be 'gentled' (the male version of stilling) by the women Aes Sedia.
The one power is split into two halves. One is the female side of it- the pure side. And the other half is the males side- the tainted side. This is the reason female Aes Sedia can't teach male Aes Sedia how to control it because their power is different.

I don't think the issue here should be worrying about the single man and his feelings you should be worried about the feelings of your husband and your marriage. Although lying to someone that you are trying to befriend is in no way how to start any relationship because they will feel betrayed and there will be obvious lack of trust.
If you want to continue to be married it is best to not act on any of these feelings as it never turns out good for anyone as well as the grass is not always greenier. If you have feelings of lonliness and of neglect in your marriage it is best to sit and talk with your husband as you may be able to talk through some things and possibly attend counselling together to salvage what you do have. If you find you do not want to be in your current marriage it is best to leave before you start any type of behaviour you may be willing to act on not only to be fair and respectful to your husband but also you then won't have to or be lying to this other man.

Aes Sedai are women who can channel the One Power using the female half of the true source, saidar. In the Age of Legends, there were also male Aes Sedai. The male half of the true source, saidin, was tainted by the Dark One when he was locked away in Shayol Ghul and Lews Therin and his hundred compainions, who performed the act, went mad instantly. Since then the Red Ajah of the modern female Aes Sedai devote their lives to finding men who can channel before they go mad.

How did the storyline of 'Wheel of Time' novels differ from the graphic novels?
The storyline of the "Wheel of Time" graphic novels closely follows the plot of the original novels written by Robert Jordan, but with condensed dialogue and action sequences due to the graphic format. The graphic novels focus more on the visual elements of the story, often sacrificing some of the depth and complexity of character development present in the original books.
There's a difference between Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and Snow White and Rose Red. The second version is about two sisters.
What mythical creatures appear in 'The Wheel of Time' series?
The following is a partial list of the mythical creatures in "The Wheel of Time" books. The list is divided into three main categories: humanoids, beasts, and shadowspawn. Hopefully others will add to and edit the list as it progresses.
A. Humanoids: These are sentient, non-human creatures that walk on two legs and speak one or more languages. See also: Shadowspawn.
1. Ogier- a race of mostly peaceful creatures who live in areas unaffected by the One Power, called stedding. Ogier are renowned for their ability to affect the growth of trees by singing to them as well as their amazing skills in building with stones. They are about 1.5 times the size of a full-grown male human, and have broad noses and mouths along with long, bushy eyebrows. They can live for several centuries, and tend to view humans as hasty, impatient creatures who live for a pitifully short time. They are fond of books. The Seanchan employ some of them as soldiers, which is considered extremely unusual in the rest of the world.
2. Aelfinn- humanoid creatures resembling snakes in appearance that exist in a reality only accessible by a special portal ter'angreal or the Tower of Ghenjei. They abhor fire, iron, and music. Once inside their realm, a human can ask any three questions, which the Aelfinn must then answer truthfully. However, their answers are often cryptic, and come at a price. If the asker does not state their terms and price before asking, the Aelfinn can name whatever price they want, which is often death. They draw some sort of satisfaction from being near humans who are ta'veren or channelers. These creatures are not considered evil per se, but they are so different from humans in thinking and behavior that they could easily be construed as such.
3. Eelfinn- extremely similar to the Aelfinn (see above), but resembling foxes in appearance rather than snakes. A human in their realm can make three requests that will be granted by them, but at a price. If the asker does not state their terms and price before making their requests, the Aelfinn can name whatever price they want, which is generally unpleasant.
B. Beasts: There are many natural creatures in the series that are either loosely or closely based on creatures on Earth.
1. Grolm- a beast with three eyes that loosely resembles a large (up to 500 pounds), predatory frog. They are used by the Seanchan in battle.
2. Raken- a relatively small, winged creature native to Seanchan. The Seanchan use these creatures as mounts for scouts in battle.
3. To'raken- a larger, less agile version of the raken, also used by the Seanchan.
4. Lopar- a large (up to 2000 pounds) predator with tough, leathery skin. Used by the Seanchan in combat and as guards.
5. Corlm- a large, beaked predator that resembles a hairy, flightless bird. Used by the Seanchan as fighters and trackers.
6. Torm- a creature about the size of a horse that resembles a cross between a lizard and a cat. These creatures are quite intelligent, and have six claws on each foot, and three eyes. Used by the Seanchan in combat.
7. Lionfish- a huge predatory fish that is capable of killing adult sharks.
8. Silverpike- a smaller predatory fish similar to barracuda.
9. Deathshead spider- a small, poisonous spider with markings on its back that resemble a human skull. One bite can make an adult human sick; two bites can kill.
C. Shadowspawn: These creatures were created by the Dark One and/or the Forsaken. They are unnatural creatures that serve the Dark One.
1. Trolloc- a violent, semi-intelligent creature that resembles a human man crossed with an animal, such as a goat, eagle, boar, or wolf. They are somewhat larger than adult male humans, and are the primary soldiers in the Dark One's army. They wear crude armor and carry basic weapons, often pole-arms or hook-like swords.
2. Myrddraal- also known as fades, halfmen, shadowmen, lurks, neverborn, eyeless, and various other names. They closely resemble humans, but have no eyes and unnaturally pale skin. They can disappear into shadows, and have extremely quick, snakelike reflexes. They are often used as commanders for trollocs; trollocs under a myrddraal's command are often linked to it, and will die if it dies. They wear black armor and cloaks that are unaffected by the wind.
3. Darkhound-
4. Draghkar-
5. Gray Man-
6. Gholam-
7. Jumara-
What was the symbol of the Aes Sedai?
The symbol of the Aes Sedai during the age of legends was two curved tear drop shapes, one white, one black, joined together to form a circle. The white half represented Women and Saidar, the black, Men and Saidin. in shape and color, it is basically the same as the real life symbol for Yin and Yang, but without the inner two dots.
In the modern times of WOT's internal time line, the symbol for Aes Sedai is just the white teardrop, called The Flame of Tar Valon. The black half, called The Dragon's Fang, was dropped after the Breaking and it's meaning was eventually confused, and became a symbol of Darkfriends and evil.
What does Mat Cauthon's fox head medallion do?
The foxhead medallion is a ter'angreal that vitiates the One Power being used upon it and its bearer. The ter'angreal is not a singular one though, Cadsuane has a similar hair ornament that performs the same function. The medallion does NOT block indirect uses of the power such as picking up a rock with the One Power and throwing it at the wearer. Air constraints, jets of fire, etc. aimed directly at the wearer are cancelled. The medallion also grows cold when someone is trying to channel at the wearer. Needless to say, Mat enjoys the perks.
Did Robert Jordan write the ending of the Wheel of Time series?
Yes. Robert Jordan had the ending of the series in his mind from the very beginning. Before he passed, he made sure it to pass it on to his family, to be included in the finished product.
Robert Jordan has said in interviews that Sammael really did die in Shadar Logoth. It is possible, however that the Dark One may have resurrected him into a new body.
Did male Aes Sedai wear the great serpent ring?
Before the Breaking the male Aes Sedai were just as big a part of the Aes Sedai order as the females were. If they followed the same tradition of wearing the great serpent ring in the Age of Legends, there is no reason to think they would not have worn it. But when saidin was tainted there were no more male Aes Sedai, and male channelers no longer had a valid claim to wear the ring. However, the ring is such a strong symbol of modern female Aes Sedai, that it is doubtful any male channeler would even think of wearing it.
