Can a ccna instructor see what ip you used when taking exams?

I am a CCNA instructor, and I never saw such an option. (Nor did I specifically look for it...) But I suppose that this information might be recorded, and that a higher-level administrator would be able to see this information, as it may be needed to track certain suspicious activity.

Does windows 2000 support sata drives?

Windows 2000 has no native support for SATA drives. If you have a slipstreamed CD with service pack 4, and the drivers for the SATA controller, you can install it. If not, you will have to run the SATA controller in emulation mode, so that Windows 2000 thinks that it is an IDE drive.

Will upgrading windows remove virus?

NO. In the absence of anti-virus software that will remove a virus, upgrading will not do the job. Doing a clean install of the full Operating System (OS) after formatting your hard drive is the only solution.

The key to a "clean install" is making sure that your method of formatting wiped the hard drive clean with zeros and ones.

-----------

There are other solutions actually. I have not resorted to a format to eliminate a virus in a long time. Use any of a number of commercial anti-virus programs to eliminate the virus then run the SFC /scannow command to repair the system files.

After everything is clean then you can uograde windows.

To get to SFC /scannow you will need to go to start/ run - then type in SFC /scannow. Remember to put a space between SFC and the forward slash.

What command is used by Windows 2000XP to replace the Master boot program program with a fresh one?

To fix the Master Boot Record on a Windows 2000/xp computer you must:

1. Boot to the install media

2. When prompted, choose Repair. ultimately, you'll access the Repair Console

3. If necessary, log into your Windows application

4. There is a utility on the install media called FIXMBR.exe, On the command prompt, type FIXMBR and press enter.

When Windows is installed, it creates the Master Boot Record on the first sector of the first hard drive. It makes a second copy or backup of the Master Boot Record immediately after the original on the hard drive. FIXMBR copies this backup copy of the MBR to the MBR location.

If you still cannot boot, repeat steps 1-3 above:

4. There is a utility on the install media called FIXBOOT.exe. on the command prompt, type FIXBOOT and press enter.

When FIXMBR fails to restore the Master Boot Record, FIXBOOT will read the information of the install and rebuild the master boot record from scratch and install it on the first sector of the hard drive. It will also create the backup.

How does Windows XP Pro manages multiprocessor Memory management UMA or NUMA CPU scheduling CPU synchronization?

Symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) is a technology that allows a computer to use more than one processor. The most common configuration of an SMP computer is one that uses two processors. The two processors are used to complete your computing tasks faster than a single processor. (Two processors aren't necessarily twice as fast as a single processor, though.) In order for a computer to take advantage of a multiprocessor setup, the software must be written for use with an SMP system. If a program isn't written for SMP, it won't take advantage of SMP. Not every program is written for SMP; SMP applications, such as image-editing programs, video-editing suites, and databases, tend to be processor intensive. SMP in Windows XP Operating systems also need to be written for SMP in order to use multiple processors. In the Windows XP family, only XP Professional supports SMP; XP Home does not. If you're a consumer with a dual-processor PC at home, you have to buy XP Professional. Windows XP Advanced Server also supports SMP. In Microsoft's grand scheme, XP Professional is meant to replace Windows 2000, which supports SMP. In fact, XP Professional uses the same kernel as Windows 2000. XP Home is designed to replace Windows Me as the consumer OS, and Windows Me does not support SMP. The difference between XP Professional and XP Home is more than just $100 and SMP support. XP Professional has plenty of other features not found in XP Home; some you'll use, others you won't care about.
