How do you lock of folder in laptop?
There are numerous ways to lock a folder and it's files. One method, which you can use easily with someone who is not familiar with the method, is the following:
1. Open a directory, such as the C: Drive.
2. Right-Click and goto "New," "Folder."
3. Name the folder - preferably only one word.
4. Open "Notepad" and paste the following: w
ren Will Will.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}
(Note: Change "Will" to whatever the folder is named.)
5. Save it as "loc.bat" with quotations inside of the same directory, but not in the folder. Such as C:
6.Open "Notepad" again and paste the following:
ren Will.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} Will
(Note: Rename "Will" to the name of the folder.
7. Save it as "key.bat" in the same directory as the "loc.bat" and the folder, but not in the folder.
8. To secure the contents of the folder, double click on the "loc.bat" file. It may take a few seconds, but the folder you first created should change it's icon to an icon like the Control Panel and, if you click on the actual folder, the folder should contain the same thing as the Control Panel.
9. To unsecure the files, and open it regularly, double click on the "key.bat" file. You may again need to wait a few seconds, but the icon should have changed back to the regular icon and the files should be viewable inside.
(Note: This works on Windows Operating System(s) only.)
Another method, which is even more secure, and could probably pass even those who know the method is here:
1. Goto "Start," "Run," and type, without quotes, "cmd"
(Note: You need to already have a file and folder created. You can do so by going to a directory, such as C: and goto "New," and "Folder," or "Text Document.")
2. Type in the following:
CD C:\Test
(Note: Replace "Test" with the name of the folder you created.)
3. Type the following, but replace the word "filename" with the name of the text document you created:
attrib filename +s +h
4. To display the file or folder type the following command, or course replacing the word "filename" with the name of the file.
attrib filename -s -h
5. To hide a folder - in C: - , while in command prompt, type the following:
CD C:\
6. Then type the following, replacing "Test" with the name of the folder:
attrib Test +s +h
There are numerous other methods of encrypting files and folders, such as certain applications like Free Hide Folder, which can be accessed here:

How do you disable parental control on Windows 7?
you plainly find your parents password somehow, you don't have to find it out, you can change it.
Go to CMD (command prompt) and type:
net user
Now after the 'net user' you type the name of the admin for example if the admin is john then...
net user john
After that you put a * after it to change the password
net user john *
Press enter, it should say 'set password for user' or something like that. Put in the password, when you type nothing will show up when you're typing ignore that, and type the new password. Then confirm the password.
After that you can log into your admin's account (since you changed it) and disable it.
(This only works if you have adminitrative rights and if you have adminitrative rights then you can disable the parental controls anyway)

What does Windows 7 uses what to store and organize files?
Seven uses NTFS, FAT, and FAT32 that I know of. If you are formatting a hard drive, use NTFS. If you are formatting a memory card or usb drive use FAT32.
Yourself should check the CD for scratches, and the hard drive for errors. Yourself should also try to reinstall from scratch. Yourself should not bother attempting to "Repair" but rather, delete the partition, and create a new one.

What will happen when you change basic to dynamic disk?
The main thing that happens when you have a dynamic disk is the ability to create an unlimited amount of OS and partitions. Additionally, you can create and delete Spanned, Striping, Mirroring, and RAID 5 by using a dynamic disk. Pretty useful if you're an organizational person, or video editor (using RAID) or a backup person (also RAID!)

Does Windows XP work on Windows 7?
Most XP drivers from what I've seen so far work great in Windows 7. XP drivers for the most part work much better in Windows 7 than under Vista. Oddly, even older signed XP drivers work fine in Windows 7 without driver signing warnings.
How can you find your registration key on your computer?
It generally comes with the software. If you purchase the software as a download it commonly comes in the form of an e-mail. If you had the key and then lost it, contact the manufacture of the software. If you registered your software most companies can tell you what your product key was. If not they will generally issue you a replacement number right there over the phone or in an e-mail. Don't use keys that another user gives you or that you find online. It's not legal and you can potentially get into some real trouble doing it.
Per "Guide To Managing and Maintaining Your PC, Seventh Edition" text book by Jean Andrews:
(Page 707)
Device Manager reads data from the HKLM\Hardware (hkey_local_machine) key to build the information it displays about hardware configurations.
Can you repair a corrupted file?
You can try following methods-
Can you install windows 7 in dell optiplex GX270 having 1gb ram and 3.0 GHZ processor?
NO
Actually, you can (I have), but it's not worth it.
You can install a hacked tiny version of Windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron 2500.
But unless you have 512mb of memory, you won't be able to run a single thing without having to wait an extreme amount of time. Even with 512MB (which is the maximum, if you believe the manual provided by Dell) it won't be pretty.
Advantages disadvantages of Windows XP?
Windows series are excellent products of Microsoft. Although some technology of Windows is not as good as UNIX, they are still of the best operating systems running on PCs. Products of Linux are cheap, but they are not supported by so many kinds of software as Windows series are.
Can you install Windows 7 on a Pentium III?
Yes, the official CPU requirement for Windows 7 32-bit is simply a x86 CPU clocked at 1 Ghz or above.
Any Intel Pentium 4 meets those technical specifications.
About Windows 7 64-bit, it depends on model of Pentium 4 : first models don't support x86-64 instructions but the newer models fully support them.
Nowadays, a lot of netbooks with single core Atom are shipped with Windows 7 despite the fact that power processing of these netbooks is significantly below most Pentium 4-based system (especially Pentium 4 with HyperThreading)
Can you run Windows 7 on a Dell Dimension e521?
I'd say no right now ...
I have tried to get the e521 working without success using the RTM version of Windows 7. When copying files, the system generally freezes up (no mouse, no keyboard, no activity at all). I then need to do a hard-reboot. This is using a new hard disk, and a clean install of Win7. I have also tried updating drives from Windows Update, and using available Vista drivers. Nothing works... This same system was up for months without any crashes using Windows XP and is going back to XP.
If Microsoft fixes whatever issues it has with this hardware, I'd then say yes with the memory caveat listed below.
Yes. If yours was equipped with 512 MB of RAM, you will probably want to upgrade it to at least 1 GB (the machine supports up to 4 GB).
ADDED 23 Jan 2010: It looks like a definite NO. When I ran the Dell-branded Win 7 Upgrade Assistant it clearly stated that the E521 is not compatible with Windows 7 (although it does meet the hardware requirements) and refused to continue with the Upgrade Installation that i wanted. I doubt if Microsoft has any issues to fix. It is Dell that has failed to release suitable drivers for their E521, or for other Dimension PCs.
COMMENT 10 April 2010: I (not original author of this reply) am running Windows 7 64-bit on my Dimension E521 (4MB memory, bios 1.1.4) works great and had no problem installing.
Comment 25 July 2010: (not original author) I am also running Win 7 (64-bit) on my Dimension E521 and have been for about 6 months. Technically it was an upgrade from XP, but in reality it is a clean install and requires you to reload all of your programs, update drivers, etc. I recommend upgrading the RAM to 4GB, it will run noticeably faster. Also, the Aero user interface has somewhat limited functionality with the stock video card, but nothing major, just some limited visual effects. Upgrading the video card will fix this, but that may also require upgrading the power supply.
