You might consider using the FoxIT reader. (You'll find it with google). It's a much smaller download than Adobe and much faster when being used. And it works with Vista. The only disadvantage I've found is that it doesn't show thumbnails of the pages. I'm not related to FoxIT - just like the product.

If you have access to the symbols and a debugger, then yes. However, without a symbol file for the binary, you can only extract limited information from the binary. You might try Spy++(SpyXX.exe), Dependency Walker (depends.exe), and/or a hex editor. You really need to define your terms better. "Talk" I can sort of figure out, but "in a crossover" is a mystery, unless you're talking about a crossover cable. The operating system has pretty much nothing to do with it, other than that both of them need to support the same communications protocol. Anything that uses standard "TCP/IP" protocol meets this requirement.
