DSL Extreme has a deal with Verizon where you do not have to have a landline to get DSL. Other providers like AT&T offer DSL without a landline to limited markets. If you choose Cable internet, you do not need a landline at all.

From what I've read, it seems that AT&T phone service is included in the DSL service. Because it is attached to the phone lines, the phone comes with it. I think that if you talk to customer service, they may be able to bypass the phone service so that you can only get DSL.
