Should be 6 bolts on the bell housing to mate it to the engine.
6 bell housing to block bolts.
Wait, let me guess: So you've got 6 bolts out of the bell housing and the transmission won't come away from the block? Any now you're thinking no, there's no way, Ford wouldn't have put bolts on TOP of the bell housing, would they?!? A: Yep. There are two. Which makes 8 bolts total on the bell housing. Good luck! (I just did this and had pretty good luck using a 'GearWrench' style ratcheting wrench.)
There are 6 bolts in the bell housing that hold it to the rear of the engine.
There are 6 bolts that holds the transmission to the engine.
should be 6 or 8
Subaru 2000 Outback: Tranny side - 10 bolts, Engine side - 8 (including starter bolts). Tranny M/N TZ1A4ZCABA-WL. You're welcome!
In most cases the thermostat housing has four retaining bolts. The exact number of retaining bolts is dependent upon the year, make, and model of the engine.
It has 6 bolts holding it to the engine. It has 3 maybe 4 torque converter bolts that need to be removed too. There are 2 line-up pins in the back of the block that go into the transmission. If you can't get the trans loose from the engine then I would say those pins are frozen in the transmission bell housing. You will just need to PRY the transmission loose from the engine. It is stuck on the pins.
