How do you change front discs on a saxo vtr?

Once the wheel has been removed you need to remove the brake caliper. On the back of the caliper there are two large 19mm hex bolts. Remove both of them and the caliper can be moved off of the disc. To remove the disc you will need to remove the two small TX30 torx bolts that secure the disc to the hub. Once removed the disc can be removed but may need some tapping form behind with a leather mallet or similar to remove corrosion. Suggest trying to twist the discround the hub in both directions until it releases. Fitting the new discs is the reverse of above.

How do you change the brake pads on a Toyota Corolla?

First you stick-shift your car then put blocks in front of the car so it wont move. Open the hood of your car then find the master cylinder if necessary. Remove the brake fluid until half way full. Raise the hood of your car with a car jack. Remove the rear tire or wheel assembly. Use the socket wrench to remove the caliper mounting bolts. Remove the brake pads form the caliper. Also remove any shims, springs, wear indicators and support plates from the caliper. Return the support plates to the caliper bracket. Place the wear indicators from the old brake pads on the new brake pads. Place the shims on the outside of each brake pad and insert the pads into the caliper bracket. Use the recommended piston caliper tool to turn clockwise while pressing it into the caliper bore. Place the caliper over the brake pads. Insert and tighten the caliper mounting bolts. finally lower your car to the ground pump the brake pedal a few times to seat the brake pads. do this trying to move your car. Add the fluid to the master cylinder container. And last try not to do any hard stopping

Can you say unlike before?

This is not a complete thought. What are you trying to say "unlike" before? This will make a difference in the answer.

How do you get rotor off 2005 Ford Escape?

Take off the pad holder 7mm Allen and the main caliper holder 18mm, then tap around rotor with rubber mallet to loosen and pull off, make sure you use a coat hanger to hold up caliper, so there is no strain on the brake line and also be sure to remove metal clip on one of the studs before trying to remove the disc. RRR Wis.

How and where do you inject grease into the front calipers of a 2000 Malibu?

Calipers do not have a grease fitting. The only fitting is a bleed value and this is for brake fluid to come out of when you bleed the brakes. I bet you are trying to lube the caliper pins. Simply remove the pins holding the caliper on and use the appropate brake lube. You can pick up the correct lube at you local parts store

How do you remove upper ball joint on 1996 Chevy blazer?

Just learned this the hard way today after trying to do it myself. The ball joint will not come out until you remove the brake caliper and rotor. Too time consuming for a do it yourselfer in my opinion...I had the shop down the street replace the ball joint for 1.1 hours labor (about $80).

How do change the front and rear brake pads in a 2000 Ford Explorer?

This is actually a fairly easy job. Obviously you loosen the lug nuts (but don't completely remove them until the wheel is off the ground). Jack up the car and support it with either jack stands or cinder blocks. Remove the wheel. Using a 12mm socket remove the two bolts on the back of the caliper, then swing the caliper away from the rotor (you may need to tap it slightly with a rubber mallet). Then remove the old pad from the "outside" (the side away from the caliper piston). Use a "C" clamp against the other pad and the back of the caliper piston and squeeze the piston all the way back into the caliper. Remove the pad you left on. Then just click the new pads in place and put the caliper back in place. If you have trouble getting the caliper in place the sleeves that the bolts go through are probably in the way so just pull them back out of the way and the caliper will pretty much fall into place. Replace and tighten the caliper bolts and VOILA!!!!! you're done. Same procedure for both sides. Make sure you start the truck and pump the brake pedal several times to get the pads against the rotor before you start to drive, otherwise the pedal will go right to the floor while you're driving and you'll be pumping like crazy trying to stop. It usually takes me about 45 minutes to an hour to do both sides. GOOD LUCK!!!! I recommend a 13mm socket. Make sure you distinguish between inside and outside pads for left and right wheels -- they're different.

What size wrench is needed to remove brake caliper bolt 2005 Pontiac vibe?

My girlfriend has a 2006 escape and I ran into the same problem trying to change her brakes and none of the Allen wrenches fitting. The '06 needed a 9 mm Allen, so I'm assuming the 05 would need the same?! Good Luck! ---------------------------------- I have a 2006 Tribute, 4wd, discs on front and back. I just did the brakes today. Front calipers are 9mm, back ones are 7mm.

How do you change rear brake pads on a 1998 Ford Mustang?

The Rear brakes are very easy to change. If you have ever changed the front brakes there is no real differnce.1) Remove the tire 2) Open the bleader screws located on the caliper 3) Remove the bolts on the caliper holding it in place 4) Remove the caliper. ( note do not lat the caliper hang by the hose use a coat hanger to hang it from the suspension) 5) Remove the worn pads. 6) Depress the caliper piston , it screws down so you will need a $ 5.00 tool to rotate it down, availale at any parts store. 7) Install the new pads and reassamble the caliper. 8) Bleed the air from the brake system. 9) Close bleeder screws 10) Reinstall the tire.DoneMore Information:I replaced my rear rotors and pads on my 98 v6 mustang today and I wanted to add some information that may help the next novice. Here are some don'ts and do's to make your life easier during this project.I called several parts places and none of the parts stores that I called had a caliper tool for $5.00 but I did find a caliper tool set at one of the national parts stores that was free but they required me to leave a refundable $60.09 deposit which was ok with me.I started working on the rear passenger side first. I immediately had trouble with trying to screw in the piston. Yes, first thing I took the brake fluid cap off and then opened the bleeder valve on the caliper but the tool would just slip off the piston when I tried to turn it clockwise. After banging a few fingers I decided I needed to remove the caliper and put it in my shop vice to hold the caliper steady while I put the extra torque needed on the tool to screw in the piston and it worked. I was happy but little did I know that I just made a major mistake. To put the Caliper in my vice required me to remove the emergency brake spring & cable as well as the brake line. Do not under any circumstance do this unless you are having to replace the caliper. Yes I got the piston screwed in using the vice but it was impossible for me to install the emergency brake spring back around the pin bolt. After wrestling with the emergency brake spring for 2 hours and almost putting my eyes out several times trying to compress the spring, I finally gave up. I figured I needed more tools and experience and in the end this is something I may have a shop do. You can avoid this problem so keep reading. If your caliper pistons are stuck and are hard to turn with the tool, then here is great way to accomplish your goal. I wished I would have thought about it on right rear.On the left rear I removed the caliper and caliper bracket, then removed the rotor. With the old rotor removed, I re-installed the bracket and caliper without installing the rotor. I tightened all bolts . What this does for you is... the caliper is bolted down and you can use more torque on the tool to turn the piston in clockwise. The rotor is not in the way and tool will slide through the caliper face to face of the piston.Once the piston is turned in, the removed the caliper and bracket again then re install with the new rotor & pads.I had my wife help me bleed the brakes and all seems well except I have an Right Rear emergency spring in the console that needs to re installed if I can figure out how to do it?
