What do cockroaches and moths eat that is the same?
Well, what do cockroaches eat? Cockroaches are usually omnivores, except the wood-eating genus Cryptocercus. They feed mostly on dead or immobile things. Cockroaches prefer food sources such as sweets, cheese, meat products, starches and grease. They also feed on plants, vegetables and fruits. They eat almost any type of food, including household items such as leather, beer, glue, flakes of dried skin, starch in book bindings or decaying organic matter of animals or plants. Cockroaches also eat kitchen crumbs, paper, human dander, shelf paper backing and much more. - Buzzle.com
If cockroaches can survive a nuclear blast why do you bother trying to rid your homes of them?
Cockroaches cannot "survive a nuclear blast." That is absurd. There is a truth behind the idea, though, which is that insects like cockroaches will probably continue to thrive on Earth after politics and our insatiable, filthy economy have made the place uninhabitable for humans.
Unfortunately, what is meant by this whole idea is the fact that genes in cockroaches are actually divide at a much slower rate. This allows for any mutations to be corrected within a reasonable timeframe before this replication continues. The fact is that although cockroaches are more resistant to radiation poisoning, out of bugs in general, the cockroach would be most likely one of the first to go.
Is there such a thing as a cockroach scout?
Cockroaches are not social creatures like ants and they do not have a network with scouts. If a single roach is crawling on your counter or floor, it is looking for food or water and not on a scouting mission for a nest or roaches.
Why is it that only roaches will survive during the end of the world?
This is actually kind of a joke. It makes fun of how resilient roaches are. Within a few generations roaches can adapt to new poisons, they can handle radiation better than people, and they can eat many things. But still, this is mostly a joke.
Would a cockroach survive being thrown in a bonfire?
No, because the cockroach would burn to death !!!
Only a couple cockroaches can fly including the Asian, American (gliding actually) and Brownbanded Cockroach. German cockroaches aren't capable of sustained flight.
In general, cockroaches with short/narrow/undeveloped wings cannot fly.
Can roaches die from a nuclear explosion?
Of course! a nuclear bomb can annihilate pretty much anything so why not a bloody measly cockroach!
The issue is not the explosion it is the radioactive fallout afterwards. If the cockroach survives the explosion it has a much better chance of surviving high levels of radioactivity than a human that survived the explosion would. The LD50 (i.e. dose that kills 50% of those exposed) for radioactivity is much higher for all insects (not just cockroaches) than it is for mammals (not just humans). However enough radioactivity will kill any living thing!
Who has the ad slogan Kill Roaches Dead?
"Kills roaches dead" is the ad slogan for Raid. Raid is a brand name of insecticide used for killing indoor bugs.
Why roaches do not go in the trash for food?
I dont know what kind of roaches you have...but the ones I know about go ANYWHERE and go into anything where there is food. It could be because the entrance of trash cans are generally high off of the ground and usually not touching any other object that would serve as a bridge. Also the awareness level of roaches is not that high. Roaches certainly go into trash cans. It also could be that roaches are excellent hiders and it may seem as though there not in there but they are actually in there hiding under and behind various items of garbage. Roaches are very sensitive to vibrations and light so by the time you turn on the light and walk to the kithcen they already sensed you coming and hide before you can see them. Roaches are amazing creatures.
Other cockroach anecdotes:
Well, recent studies and research is suggesting that they are developing a taste for protein based foods. They are also cannibalistic, and will eat each other, dead roaches, their own droppings, and anything that they can find. New roach bait gels have been used successfully that eradicate the roaches fairly quickly. Recent research suggests that they are now developing a preference for protein based foods such as grease and starchy foods.
Cockroaches Are CannibalsThey can and do eat each other, and their droppings, and dead roaches as well. They can get into food that is left out and contaminate it with their droppings. New roach bait gels have seemed to have a good response in controlling them as these have been tested and have the domino effect... If a roach eats the bait gel and dies, and then another roach eats the dead roach or its droppings, it will kill that roach as well. How many days does it take rye grass to mature?

What is the recipe for pandan leaf roach repellant?
When was the last time US soldiers were killed in a nuclear explosion?
That depends on how you define "killed".
There were US prisoners of war at Hiroshima and some of them died in the atomic bombing.
Many of the US nuclear tests in the 1950s exposed soldiers to levels of radioactivity that killed them from cancers and other diseases as late as the middle 1980s.
Some species of cockroach do fly. The normal household version does not. Greek cockroaches are not noted as being very prominent. German cockroaches are a popular species.
What are the effects of pandan leaf to cockroaches?
Whole uncooked or processed pandan leaves are a natural roach repellent, having a very high success rate. Roaches do not like the aromatic oil that is present in the leaves. They are used in taxi cabs in Malaysia and Singapore for that purpose.
