Blighty... Ok, well I don't know about that one, but a friend of mine that moved here to the States around 5th grade used to refer to England, or rather the entire UK as the "Little Continent." Now, before anyone cracks wise, we're all well aware that the UK isn't a continent. The UK, is in fact part of the European continent, and European union for that matter. Land Masses do not really "break up" They are all just high and low points on the earths crust. The low points were filled in with water, and voila.
