"Gluten" is a protean found in wheat flours. Some people with 'celiac disease' are allergic to gluten.
Foods sold for celiacs are labeled as "Gluten Free", you must assume that all processed foods without this label MAY contain gluten.

No, there is gluten in barley.
But interestingly, its different gluten to that in wheat.

Yi Yi Ren (Coix), sometimes called "pearl barley", is different from the barley grain that contains the gluten-like proteins problematic for those with celiac sprue. Yi Yi Ren is not believed to be allergenic.
