Do you need to clean the goldfish bowl when there are bubbles around the bowl?
Goldfish shouldn't be living in a bowl, they'll have a really bad life and wont live long at all.
Just scoop some of the water up into a spare tank or something with the goldfish so it can stay there while u clean it. Then just rinse it with normal water and use the special goldfish cleaning spray. then fill it back up, and tip the goldfish back in carefully.
When i was little, I had a goldfish in a 10 liter tank... pretty bad but id say that's the smallest ONE goldfish should ever be in if you want it to last >_<
Can goldfish and tigerfish live together?
The simple answer is No. Tigerfish ( Hydrocynus sp)come from tropical Africa so they need tropical temperatures. They also grow very very large. Goldfish are a coldwater species and although one could be put in with a Tigerfish it would not live long before either the Tigerfish or the water conditions killed it.
How much goldfish flakes do you give to a betta fish a day?
It's actually best if you bought freeze-dried blood worms, they are higher in protein than flakes, and are the fish's natural food, so obviously more appealing to your fish. You only need a few of them, usually just what it'll eat in a 2 minute time period.
However, live food is preferred, if it's not available, definitely get freeze dried, which can be purchased at a convenience store or even walmart.
== == == == Pet stores sell a food for bettas, it comes in a small can from tetra-min, to feed your betta if you keep it in a glass vase by itself with a plant, just take a small amount between your first finger and thumb or a pinch and drop it in, bettas for the most part do not eat every day so it is up to you how often you feed your fish once again if your betta is in a bowl or container by itself, you do not have to feed your betta every day. I feed the betta in our glass container that has a lot of plant life about once or twice a week, and that betta is about 8 months old,
What is a good temp of water for a fresh water fish tank?
The required temperature of the water depends on the species of fish you keep and can vary greatly. Most/many livebearers like guppies, plattys, swordtails etc will be happy at around 65F to 72F. The more tropical fish like the Amazonian dwelling neon tetras or angelfish prefer warmer temperatures of around 80F 88F. My advice is to always find out from your supplier what specific water parameters (ie. temperature, pH, GH and KH) are required before you get any kind of fish. If your supplier can not give you those parameters then find a better, more informed supplier
How much do you feed two tiny goldfish?
If they are youngsters they need to have their tummies kept full so it is good to feed them several times a day (like a baby anything) but to avoid poisoning their water, only feed them as much as they can eat in 15 minutes. Always remove any left over food.
What happens if you accidentally eat fish food?
You should probably brush your teeth.
Goldfish food in accidental small quantities should not harm you, but it's not made for human consumption.
Do betta like other fishes company?
They can get depressed, but NOT lonely. Don't ever buy a 'friend' for your beta fish- they will fight until one dies! If your beta seems depressed, try putting something colorful near his tank, or get him a ping pong ball, etc.
Why are your goldfish developing black stuff on their fins?
IT IS WHAT HAPPENED TO MINE. IT IS Amonia Burns. treat it immediately. u can take it to petsmart or change the water if u dont have filter every other day.
How do you determine the sex of black moor goldfish?
Following are some methods that can be used to recognize the sexes but even these are useless unless the fish are at least a year old, i.e., have attained sexual maturity.
1. Midline ridge: male goldfish have a ridge running through the back of pelvic fins to their vent opening on the underside. The ridge is either completely missing or smaller in females.
2. Firmness of abdomen: The area between pelvic and anal fins is pliable for females but very firm for males.
3. Shape of the vent: Though difficult to figure out, the female vent is rounder and convex, whereas the male vent is thinner and concave.
4. Shape of the pectoral fins: Male pectoral fins are pointed with stiffer leading ray and female pectorals are rounded, shorter with finer front fin ray.
5. Features: females are brighter colored and are more active. This could be a difficult way of pointing out a female but you could try!
6. Check out: One theory says that you can introduce a known female into the tank and watch for the reaction of fish. Males will check out the new fish but the females will show no interest!
The only way you can learn to spot male and female goldfish is by closely observing known males and females and noticing their various traits. A pet shop could be a nice place to learn this.
During spawning season it will be easier because the male will follow and nudge the female relentlessly sometimes even bruising and injuring the female. Finally, it's only your experience that will give you any degree of confidence of judging the sexes by looking at the goldfish in a tank. Difficult but definitely not impossible!

How many salt cups do you put in a 55 gallon fish tank?
4 cups per quart: 4 quarts per gallon makes 16 cups per gallon. So 16 x 55 is your answer.
What can you do if your pump breaks in your fish tank?
Most pet shops have air pump repair kits available. So you could repair it, replace it with another air pump, or seize the opportunity if you have sufficient money, to buy a power filter that will do a better job than an air driven filter anyway.
How do you know if fantail goldfish is going to have babies?
You should see that the female goldfish appears fatter than usual due to the eggs she is carrying. The male will have white spots on his front fins and gill covers and will pay the female a lot of attention chasing her around the tank or pond.
Can you feed goldfish oranges?
That would make it sick. Just ask a relative or a neighbor to take care of it for you while you're gone.
Can you put guppie fish and goldfish in the one tank?
No, unless the goldfish is larger than the rope fish (which I doubt). Rope fish will likely eat anything smaller than it. Anything larger than a rope fish should be fine, but i don't recommend putting anything like oscars, red devils, or any other predatory or territoral type large fish. Make sure to keep the rope fish in at least 200 L of water, if not 300 and provide it some rocks and plants to hide in.

How long should you keep your filter running in fish tank?
The filter on an aquarium should always be running. Your filter is what will primarily contain all your good bacteria from the cycling of your tank, this is what helps keep the water clear, and along with regular water changes in your tank, it keeps the ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates at or near 0.
What is the life span for a rosey red feeder fish?
Feeder fish are simply fish that have been "deemed" to be not good enough to keep alive and so are sold as food for other larger fish. They could live a normal life span for their species. Rosey Red is a colour not a species but if you are refering to the Rosey Red Barb then the fish could live for up to 5 years if you do everything right.
How often should you clean a goldfish tank with 4 goldfish in it?
Once a week :))))) i have experience
A lot of people believe bettas are aggressive to everything they see. That is not true at all. Male betta's can live with any fish that does not bear a strong resemblance to it(like guppies for example) Female bettas can live with anything. The only exception to this rule is fish that will eat bettas like oscars. They also do very well with African dwarf frogs and ghost shrimp. You can add fish or other animals if you have at least a 10 gallon tank with a filter and not just a bowl. This is my 30 gallon tank setup
My half-moon betta Flare
4 zebra danios
5 neon tetras
4 cardinal tetras(The cardinals and neons school)
4 ghost shrimp
1 ottocinclus catfish
3 mystery snails
The betta is super chill about all the other fish
Can you put a betta fish in a tank with goldfish?
You should not keep a betta with goldfish as their needs are different. Bettas are a tropical fish and do much better in water temperatures that are 78F to 80F, while that is too warm for a constant temperature in a goldfish tank
Goldfish produce large amounts of ammonia and are coldwater fish so I would recommend that you do not place together.
What colour have the goldfish's eggs?
Goldfish come in a wide range of colors here is a list of a few: * White * Black * Blue (it looks like black but has a blue sheen) * Gold * Red * Calico * Chocolate (same as brown) * Yellow (looks like real gold)also lightly orange

They can be the normal orange, white, pink, black, and all kinds of combinations of these.
How do you change the water in your Betta's fish bowl?
I will first use a small net, wet it before touching the betta with it, remove the betta and place it in a small container, example empty cool whip container, then just pour the water out of the container that the betta is being kept in rinse it out then I remove the stones and wipe the inside of the glass bowl with rubbing alcohol to remove the alage, rinse the glass container out again, put the stones back in, fill the glass container back up with water at room temp, then I pour the water and betta from the cool whip container back into the glass container.
Yes. Goldfish hear vibrations in water with tiny bones in their head. If you tap on fishtanks, the goldfish will be overwhelmed and probably suffer a bad headache! That's why goldfish get scared if you tap fishtanks.
Yes! And not just common noises but also noises caused by vibrations of objects. For example, when you thunk against the aquarium (NEVER DO THAT) this generates sound. Or if you thunk or hit the table on which the aquarium is (NEVER DO THINGS LIKE THAT), this also generates sound.
Can 2 fantail goldfish live in a 2.5 gallon tank?
Some say that goldfish will grow to the tank, the bigger the tank, the bigger they will grow. However, this is one of the worst kinds of falsehoods. There are plenty of people out there who swear they kept a goldfish for years and years in a small tank or even a bowl and it lived just fine and never outgrew its container, but the truth is that these fish were stunted, unhealthy and probably could have lived a life span 10x as long in a bigger environment. What happens, usually--if ammonia poisoning doesn't get your fish first--is the bones in your goldfish stop growing, but the internal organs don't and the fish squishes from the inside out. It's a painful death.
A lot of people out there would say not to keep the fish in a 2.5 gallon tank at all, but I think you can get away with keeping your goldfish in a tank that small for a little while, with good filtration and frequent water changes. You should make plans to move your fish to a larger tank as soon as you can, though.
Fancy goldfish have the potential to reach about 10 inches in length. Common or Comet goldfish have the potential to reach about 12 inches. Both types put out more ammonia than other tank fish. (So forget "one gallon of water per inch of fish." Goldfish are a heavier bio-load.) The standard rule for goldfish is to have at least 2 or 3 fish and plan to have a tank that has 20 gallons of room for the first fish and 10 gallons for each additional fish. This would make the minimum long term tank size at least 30 gallons.
Your fish may still outgrow this tank, but it will take a while. You could use smaller tanks in the beginning and work your way up to a 29 or 55 gallon or larger tank as your fish grow (and as you become ready for a larger tank) or you could start out with a bigger tank to begin with, as a way to cut down on your overall investment. (Be aware that tanks age, though, and yours may begin to leak or whatever long before your fish actually need that space. Especially if you foresee moving a lot.)
Do goldfish eat fighting fish?
YES!! At least the fry. My Fan Tailed Goldfish LOVED the fact that my daughter's Mollies gave birth... like a swimming vending machine. Separate the birthing mother from the rest of the tank with a breeder(cheap and worth it). When finished with the birthing process (about 12 hrs) remove the mom to the rest of the tank and keep he fry in the breeder until about 1 inch long. Then they are too big to be eaten.
