hi I have 4 female and 1 male, All mine sleep at the bottom of the tank on the gravel while the lights are off but its not uncommon for them to sleep at the top of the tank, usually they perk up as soon as the light comes back on

Since you haven't provided any specifics on the size of the tank, i say 2 females and 1 male because they multiply more then rabbits. i bought about 6 last year (cant remember how many were females and how many were males) and now i have over 200 so beware.

If you say what species of fish you have I can advise you if it is even possible for that species to be infected.
