What are responsibilities of an Anthropologist?

Anthropologists work in many parts of the world in close personal association with the peoples and situations they study. Their professional situation is, therefore, uniquely varied and complex. They are involved with their discipline, their colleagues, their students, their sponsors, their subjects, their own and host governments, the particular individuals and groups with whom they do their fieldwork, other populations and interest groups in the nations within which they work, and the study of processes and issues affecting general human welfare. In a field of such complex involvements, misunderstandings, conflicts, and the necessity to make choices among conflicting values are bound to arise and to generate ethical dilemmas. It is a prime responsibility of anthropologists to anticipate these and to plan to resolve them in such a way as to do damage neither to those whom they study nor, insofar as possible, to their scholarly community. Where these conditions cannot be met, the anthropologist would be well-advised not to pursue the particular piece of research.

How did bosses treat factory workers in the mid-1800s?

Most of the workers were treated quite badly as the conditions needed to make the products had to be often very warm, and dry. child labour was common as they were very cheap to employ. their parents couldn't afford to feed them if they didn't work. Workers had to work extremely long hours with often little or no breaks and the work they had to do was often menial, boring and extremely uncomfortable.

not all factory workers were so mean though as robert owen owner of new lanark mill in scotland would not allow children under 10 to work. he provided nice clean homes for his workers, and a school and many more things. he restricted working hours to 10 hours for 10-12yrs and 12 hours for 13-16. he was a good factory owner .

if a worker was sick, there was no paid day off. in fact they were fined 6 shillings if they could not find someone to replace them!

there was no compensation. if a worker was injured, they didn't get paid, they had to work with the injury or leave the mill.

i hope this helps.

What did women do to help men in world war 2?

That's more of a topic for a book than a brief discussion on this forum. In short, there was quite a bit of attitude change after the Holocaust. The Jews wanted their own sovereign nation and it ended up being Israel when England gave them some unwanted land. Of course THAT causes an impact on history. The Atomic Bomb certainly impacted history. The division of Germany certainly affected history and was viewed as necessary since Germany had made two attempts at ruling Europe in the space of 25 years. The world believed that there was only one way to stop the Germans, and that was "divide and conquer". Russia was quite concerned with Germany's attempts to take over the relatively young communist nation and after the war was convinced that the rest of the world wanted to take over. As such, the paranoia of Russia tended to spill over into the rest of the world, resulting in the seemingly never ending "cold war" that really became entrenched when Russia developed "the bomb". The topic you mentioned is a complex one. There is no simple answer.

How would you answer Why do you feel you would be a good candidate for this position?

Think about the job requirements itself, and describe your characteristics that match with what is required. E.g. if it is a job where you are required to talk to the general public, point out that you are not shy. If you have examples, by all means give them. Think about what you have done in various clubs you've been involved: drama club or debating team helps to prove you aren't shy about speaking in public. Coin or stamp collecting helps to prove you are organized.

Where can a 15 year old boy work in Georgia?

Teen Jobs in GeorgiaMost employers won't hire you full time because of your age and if you had a degree in something and was legal age you would make good money. There are jobs working on farms during the summer. some jobs are mowing yards, doing odd jobs like building storage houses, barns, planting ,etc. some guys make good money doing yards in the summers. but they have to have so many yards to do and on a regular bases. good luck.

I happen to be in your exact same situation, and here's what I'm doing:

  • Chick-Fil-A can hire you
  • Many of your local grocery stores will hire you as bagger (Kroger, Publix, etc)
  • Many rec centers are looking for teen counselors, especially during the summer, so contact your local YMCA's and boys and girls clubs, or big brother big sister
  • If you like kids ( or if you're like me and just want some income) contact your local nurseries or childcare centers, as well as local churches and even some rec centers to see if you can get hired for a position
  • Find some local business like your local movie theater or coffee shop and contact them. you can do a search on yelp.com to find whats in your area and call them up. Bowling Alleys, Skating rinks, or summer camps are good too.
  • If you know how to swim, a lifeguard position at these local places are a really good idea.
  • AMC movie theaters can hire you
  • SnagAjob.com is a really good resource as well
  • start your own home business; i know it sounds cliche, but it works. I made some huge bucks last summer selling sodas and chips form my house, and candy apples in the winter.
  • If all else fails, look around for an internship or volunteer work; it not only makes you look better, but they may hire you later on. Try some places like Hands On Atlanta or VOX teen communications.
  • hope this helps and best of luck.

How much is your starting salary for a air hostess?

$1000-$2000 dollars in savings is a good idea. Some airlines do not pay for training (that's right, you train for free) or initial relocation to your assigned home base. If this is the case, you will need money to relocate, cover first month's rent/deposit, etc. However, the airline may cover your transportation to the training base and your meals and hotel during training.
