The rash could be a mild reaction to medication that he's been taking or due to the fever itself. If the rash does not spread, and is not itchy or changing color then it will clear up on it's own. I would not advise using any creams or lotions to treat this unless it does become itchy or worsen. Leave it alone. Also, fevers, colds, and illness in general can deplete certain vitamins and minerals in the body so I would suggest that you pay attention to good nutrition for your child at this time. If the rash becomes itchy or changes then call your pediatrician and have on hand a list of all medications that your child has taken....including anything over the counter. I also live in Northern Minnesota, and my allergies are at their worst in August. This is when grass pollen is at its peak. I'm not sure if this is what you're allergic to, but this gives me really big problems. I guess the only other possibility that stands out in my mind would be some sort of fruit that's only "in season" in August, but that would be a little easier to trace.

I'd recommend going into the allergist's office for an allergy test. Then you can know exactly what you're allergic to, and you can get medicine or shots. There is an office in Duluth, at SMDC (St. Mary's). I'm not sure about other towns.

very unlikely that the rash is related. more likely it results from the irritaion of having a dirty sweaty stinky cast held to her sensitive skin for three weeks, or even a new surnburn on recently exposed skin. not related to the fracture, i assure you. hope that helps

They could be cause by a few things. It could be a bug bite. If you itched it, then bumps could form even more. It could also be an allergic reaction to something. (Hives, possibly. Even just on a small, isolated area, it can happen.) If it is part of a rash, it might be something like poison ivy or poison oak. It could be some ingrown hairs, depending on the area.
