I called my WW2 veteran neighbor and asked him if it was OK and he said yes. (He operated a Canadian sub and whenever they ran out of food they would just catch a mouse and make a fine stew.) I tried it and WOW! It must have been the most delectable thing ever. Now I ask to watch mice for the weekend whenever I can and just replace them with pet store mice ( I make sure to eat the control mice because their biological systems have not been tampered with.) Dry food you can leave out for a week, but vegetables you have to replace every day. If your guinea pig hasn't eaten a type of vegetable at all, then don't give it to them again, as they may not like it.

Yes you can give them some juices as long as it's not concentrated or it has to be zero-sugar content. Or stick on the standard and recommended method (fresh fruits) for you to be sure of your piggies health.

From what I gather in reading about soursobs is that it is relatively high in sugar, which could lead to diabetes in guinea pigs. Also, since soursobs has been linked to parkinson's disease in humans a small ammount could potentially bring on similar symptoms in guinea pigs. So, while you could feed your guinea pig a taste I personally wouldn't due to the potential risks involved with it.

In capitivaty, rodents need to chew on things like wood and cardboard because they don't usually eat very hard food.
