What role did Eve play in the fall of humanity?

ordImmanuel Kant, Leon R. Kass and others say that the story of the Garden of Eden did not conclude in the fall of man, but in the rise of man. Until they ate of the tree of knowledge of good and bad, Adam and Eve had been no better than the animals, merely eating and being content with a simple life.

They say that by eating the forbidden fruit, Eve performed the first act of free choice in the Bible, raising humans above the other animals. With the knowledge of good and bad, they were now like gods (Genesis 3:22: "And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us..."). The notion of original sin, and therefore the 'fall' of man, really only came with St Augustine, and even then only in western Christianity.

Answer-2

According to the theory of the Creation of Man as described in the last heavenly Book, the holy Qur'an, Hazrat Adam (AS) was created as to be the Caliph of Almighty Allah on the planet Earth. He was sent to paradise where Hazrat Eve (AS) was created as his spouse. Both of them stayed in the paradise for a transitory period. As Satan was their enemy, he lured both of them to eat the fruit of forbidden tree by swearing to them that they would become Angel like and death would never touch them. They were taken in by the wicked trick of Satan and ate the forbidden fruit. This was destined to happen as they were originally created to come to the earth and breed humans. The Qur'an does not lay the blame on the weak shoulders of Hazrat Eve (AS) who was too innocent to see through the nefarious conspiracy of Devil, the Shaitan. Thus the Muslims don't blame our Mother Hazrat Eve (AS), nor do they call it the Fall of Humanity. It was preplanned by Almighty Allah.

What is the edenic covenant?

The Edenic covenant is the first covenant between God and man.

Genesis 1:28, Genesis 2:8, Genesis 2:15-17

The covenant was an agreement to reward the creature if certain conditions were faithfully fulfilled and a penalty if the conditions were violated, in one word, obedience.

As reward/recompense for labour of obedience the man and the woman could eat freely of the food in the garden except for one tree. Being obedient to this one condition would assure the man and the woman fellowship with God and never ending life (Gen 3:22). God warned them that disobedience would mean loss of fellowship with God - spiritual death.

Who did Cain marry if it was just him Adam and Eve and abel?

Reading the scriptures carefully shows that Adam and Eve fathered Cain and " meanwhile they continued to have children" or similar words depending on the translation. If one takes the bible literally and not as a collection of stories, then the only logical answer is "He married one of his sisters"

What was God's message to Adam and Eve on the sixth day?

AnswerGenesis 1:27-28 says that on the sixth day God created man, both male and female, and told them to be fruitful and multiply and to replenish the earth and subdue it. However there is no mention of Adam and Eve.

There are two creation stories in Genesis, and Leon R. Kass (The Beginning of Wisdom: Reading Genesis) says that once we recognise the independence of the two creation stories, we are compelled to adopt a critical principle of reading if we mean to understand each story on its own terms. To this end, we must scrupulously avoid reading into the second story any facts or notions taken from the first, and vice versa. Whereas the first creation story certainly tells man to subdue the earth, the second story says that Adam is the servant of the earth.

What would happen if Adam and Eve don't eat the apple?

Either her and Adam would have stayed in the garden and had children there, and we would be living in the garden of Eden even now, generations later,in paradise as god intended, or,someone generations later would have been tempted by the apple and ate it,resulting in the world as we know it.

Why is woman created with man in Genesis 1 but woman is created out of man in Genesis 2?

The reason for this difference is that there are two quite different creation stories in Genesis, written by two different authors. The first creation story is Genesis 1:1-24a (the first sentence of 2:4) and is believed to have been written by a source now known as the Priestly source. The second is in Genesis 2:4b-2:25 and is believed to have been written by a source now known as the Yahwist source. The creation of man and woman is, of course, not the only difference that scholars note between the two accounts.

What difference does it make whether or not God created?

If GOD had a purpose for creating, then he had a purpose for US.

Whenever we see a complicated piece of machinery, or a beautiful work of art, we know that the designer had a purpose in mind for it. He didn't just put gears and wires , or color and texture together for nothing. He had some REASON for making it.

We can look around us at our world, and see it as an accidental fluke coming from nothing with no purpose (sortof like a fully functioning car spontaneously growing from the dust over many years). If that's all it is, then that's all there is. No future, no hope, no purpose. Just live the best we can and die.

ON the other hand:

If God "CREATED", then he had a purpose for doing so.

We can look around us at our world, and see it as something designed for us.

Humankind was created FROM the earth and FOR the earth, fully functional, with the ability to love, laugh, worship, plan for the future, hope, dream, eat and drink to sustain our lives and procreate to sustain the human family, and 'fill the earth' (Genesis 1:28).

We will see 'normal' things as the miracles they truly are. Like Trees...clean, silent, beautiful factories constantly working to clean our air, provide shade and homes for thousands of creatures that are all miracles of design themselves , to clean and renew our amazing planet. A planet that has a PURPOSE (Isaiah 45:18)

As any good inventor and designer would do, an Owner's Manual, with a set of 'directions' are provided, for optimum operating capacity. God, the creator, provided the Bible. It explains the history of creation, why He created, what our purpose is and what our future is. He explained how to handle certain problems that may come up, where to go for repairs and how to fix things permanently. There are some limitations, but for the most part we are given a lifetime warranty that lasts FOREVER .(John 17:3)

Because 'God Created', we HAVE a future and a hope.(Jeremiah 29:11)(John 3:16)

What was Adam and Eve last name?

Seems superfluous. Two people, two names. Doesn't leave much room for confusion.

No one in the Bible has a last name (edit: except jesus christ..). The convention is X son of Y or sometimes a first name followed by a place "Eliyahu HaGiladi" , the Prophet Eliyahu is identified by his place, Gilad.
