To say the least it's worth trying them together with doctors consent - if you are taking the citalopram for the similar reasons as I. It ought to shed at least 2 or 3 hours off its duration (strengh drops big time).

I'm not prescribed Adderall, but I have been taking 30mg doses fairly regularly now (1 - 2 times a week). And given I didn't ween myself onto the drug I have encountered pretty drastic side-effects. Aside from cotton-mouth later in the day which causes me to unconsciously chew my cheeks a bit, the stimulant/focus effect of this medication, at least in the 30mg dose, can last me multiple days depending on my activity level, and given most of my work is done at a computer and leaves me mostly stationary for hours on end, I've been able to ride the effect for upwards of 48 hours before crashing.
For the guy who said a Adderall 30mg XL works for 48 hours. Dude, the effects wear off at the very longest 12 hours. You mind is tricking you to believe that that it's still working 24-48hours later giving you a placebo effect once it's worn off. Even the half-life has warn off completely. The adderall AND it's metabolites could even be out of your system in 48 hours. You have a powerful mind bro. Anyways adderall XR is supposed to last for 12 hours. But it depends how high your tolerance is, if you ate before you took the medication, your metabolism, etc. It all depends on the person.
Adderall XR is an extremely powerful drug and I've had some experiences with it as well, and as someone who's been taking different variations of ADHD medication off and on for over a year now and without having the illness or having a prescription , I'm going to have to agree with the guy who claims he's felt some of this drugs effects in his system for up to 48 hours it may seem like. I've experienced somewhat similar symptoms but i wouldn't necessarily classify the specific feelings you've been having as far as feeling like the drug is still working in your body, because that's physically impossible. However, you and i alike probably have just as intense "comedown" symptoms which isn't necessarily the easiest feeling to set aside from the original effects Adderall takes on one's body. Thank you.
