Can addictions be cured?

If you mean out of 100 people that try to quit an addictive substance do quit, then no. But I have seen many people quit using drugs and remain clean over 20 years. Its a whole lifestyle change that needs to take place.

Can you take suboxone after taking Oxycontin?

Not unless you feel like going into intense precipitated withdrawals and wanting to claw your eyes out. Trust me, don't do it. In fact, you need to wait at the bare minimum 12-15 hours after your last dose of heroin until you can take suboxone. You should really wait 24 hours though. You need to be in withdrawal from the heroin before the suboxone will work without making it ten times worse.

Is it dangerous to go under anaesthesia if taking suboxone?

I don't know how snorting suboxone is working for this person, because if so, it's the first I've ever heard of such a thing. Suboxone is specifically designed NOT to work any other way besides dissolving under your tongue -- even swallowing it won't work. So basically, it would just waste your suboxone. But what I don't get is why you would even want to try -- if you're taking suboxone to begin with, aren't you trying to fight a drug problem (that probably involves snorting, etc.)? Or do you just like to put things in your nose? If its the latter, let me reccommend crushing Smarties candies and doing that instead. It seems just about as intelligent.

Does Suboxone show up in military drug tests?

Yes. Suboxone contains buprenorphine (and naloxone), and is in the opioid class of medication/drugs. It will test positive for opiates on a simple urine drug screen test. The person above me is an idiot, buprenorphine doesnt show up in any standard urine drug screen, it must be specifically tested for. As far as the military testing for buprenorphine, im currently in the process of finding that out for myself, so far the general concensus is no, but dont take my word for it.

Why do drug addicts compel their friends?

Drug addicts may compel their friends either because they do not want to feel like they are addicted alone, and they want to get someone else addicted to not be alone, or simply just to get more business for their drug dealer, but it all surely does depend on the person that is addicted in the first place...i hope that helps..

I am currently taking 8 mg Of suboxone a day how much need i snort to be high?

It really isn't designed for that, the getting high part or the snorting part.

If you're looking to take a break from your program, ( don't give up on it all together )

stop taking the suboxone for 2 or 3 days, it'll clear your system and stop blocking the receptors. Then, if you must, and I'm not judging you, take what you normally took when you first started using whatever you use, it'll work again. Please consider just buying enough for a one day break, get it out of your mind, relax, whatever you're trying to accomplish, then wait until you feel the sickness coming on and resume your

Suboxone regime. Try not to take a break more than once every 3 or 4 months and limit it to one day. You're going to be an addict the rest of your life, I know I will, and if this allows you to control it, I'm not saying it's the right thing to do, but it's a hell of a lot better than giving up and giving in completely. I'm no doctor, I'm nobody really, so this is just my opinion.. take it for what it's worth.

Will you get sick if you shoot dope 6 hours after taking suboxone?

Suboxone or Buprenorphine is a semi synthetic opioid. It has partial agonist activity at the µ-opioid receptor, partial or full agonist activity at the ORL1/nociceptin receptor, and competitive antagonist activity at thekappa, and antagonist activity at the delta opioid receptors. In simple terms, if there are no other opiates/opioids in the system for the suboxone to compete with, then it is an agonist and will work like heroin etc. and prevent you from being sick. If heroin or other opiates are taken while Suboxone is in the system then it becomes an antagonist, meaning that it will block the opiate receptor from absorbing the opiates and therefore will cause sickness.

If Suboxone is taken incorrectly, or if it is abused, it can cause strong and even immediate symptoms of opiate withdrawal and detox.

Some people say that even after 24 hours they do not feel the dope.

It has a half life of 20-70 hours, on average it's around 37 hours. So if you are really bugging for a shot (and don't wanna risk getting sick), it's best to wait at least 36 hours after the last dose of suboxone.

Some people have reported being able to feel the effects of heroin while Suboxone is still actively in the system, but this maybe an addiction to injecting alone and therefore the actual act of injecting has caused an adrenaline rush that the user has mistaken for the effects of heroin.

If you really want some good advice, (from someone who knows what they're on about too), stick to your Suboxone and forget your shot. Go do something good for you that you enjoy doing, such as exercise or whatever floats your boat. If you are doing an activity you enjoy, the receptors release hormones that make you feel good! It'll be better for you in the long run!

Good Luck with whatever you decide!

What is the chance of someone recovering from an alcohol addiction?

This depends entirely on who the addicted person is, where they are and how they go about doing so.

Odds are good if you truly want to and can get access to decent help; not so good if you can't really be bothered or if you cannot reach any good aid.

How do drug abuse affect learning?

the biggest problem is that people tend to lose control of their ability to pluralize properly and therefore they write things like this:

-drugged-"how does drugs affect a students grades?"

rather than this;

-not stoned- "how do drugs effect a students grades?"

see the differences? probably not, so take a breather and stop hitting the pipe before you ask sillynessness like that :)

Why should alcohol be limited?

Did the Rolling Stones use drugs?

No. The Beatles began taking stimulants in Hamburg in 1960, to stay awake through eight- and twelve-hour sets playing music. Bob Dylan introduced them to marijuana in 1964; Lennon and Harrison were first given LSD in 1965 by their dentist, who invited them and their wives to a dinner party. (They next used LSD in 1966, at a house party in Los Angeles.)

You can't generalize it as "Green Day", it must be broken down into each amazing member of the band. But yes, they all have done a large range of drugs, including Cocaine, Meth, Crack, and more. This is where some of their songs come from.

How do you get your book considered for an oprahs book club book?

I would like to contribute for discussion and answer how to get my book submitted to Oprah's book club. I have taken a quiz on the net and my points added up concerning TV spots, newspaper articiles, and notoriety to the public at large. My book is considered historical fiction/romance and is based on family members just prior to the Civil War and I have been told by my publisher that the best quality of my books are the characters who become alive and real. Once you are introduced to them, you do not want to leave them. Therefore, it has become a four book series that is being considered for Television miniseries. If I could find an open door I would walk through it and consider the books worthy of recognition as well as family entertainment and containing nothing vulgar or unseemly for the entire family.
