Where to buy a swim cap for dreadlocks?

Finally !! There is a great unisex extra large swim cap especially designed for dreadlocks and long hair styles on eBay !! The material used is comfortable and keeps the head cool during use. It can be used with really long locs!! The item # is 300702640994 . Just put that number into the search area (where you usually type a search word) and it will take you right to the page. Yeah!! No more plastic wrap !! Oh, the seller has other items for locs.

use plastic wrap

Plastic wrap didn't work for me. The swim cap, below, that I bought worked much better. I have them in three different colors. I don't think anything keeps all of the water out, but this works really well:

How do you get wax out of curly African hair?

with wax removal theres 3 schools of thought none of which are 100% effective

1st, possibly the best method for removing the bulk of the wax, but requires extreme care as it can be dangerous., melt the wax out.. the melting temp of wax is 45 c or 140 f which is hot enough to cause a burn.

additionally the wax must be heated above that temp long enough to melt, so most people use near boiling water. dip 1 dread in let it soak a minute or so, then with thick rubber gloves squeeze out the waxy slime from root to tip (if your tips were forced to be rounded instead of left to be whispy, this decreases the effectiveness since whispy tips easily draw liquids out while rounded tips hold liquids in)

do 1 dread at a time then repeat, you will have to reheat the water and change it often

method 2 emulsification in soap..just normal washings isn't enough, you need a ton of soap, along with lots of intense scrubbing, i hear dawn dish soap works best you will want a few bottles. saturate the dreads scrubbing like crazy then rinse with as hot of water as you can stand.. repeat over and over.. a friend whos done many wax cleanups this way says she typically keeps on soaking scrubbing and rinsing for 8-10 hours

each time it will only remove a small amount

method 3.. dissolving if your able to find dissolve it it might be worth experimenting with. its an all natural citrus based solvent that dissolves tars glues caulks adhesives and more

i have never used it on hair (only a homemade4 weakened version) so by all means test it on a lil hair 1st to make sure your not gonna dissolve a dread too..

theoreticallyit should be safe though.

but if ya arent gonna get that you can make your own weaker dissolving solution

i have seen the deep cleanse formula used with citrus added and it worked well for some but not all

this is experimental so try varying strengths and ingredients to find what works for you

basic formula 1/3-3/4 cup baking soda in a gallon of water..add to that any of the following orange essential oil lemon oil grapefruit oil..or..you can use the juices, but be sure its only pure juice no sugar added no extra crap, if u can squeeze em yourself that's best

let soak a good long time (even an hour) then rinse very thoroughly

each method will only do so much so should be repeated many times..in fact many times past when you think you got it all

the very nature of wax makes it resistant to removal and many times ive seen people claim they got it all only to find wax caked in the center 3 years later when they cut em off

Can you use a substitute for dread wax and shampoo?

Dr. Bronners is an awesome substitute for dread shampoo and it has hemp which is good. It is residue free and is highly concentrated so it lasts forever. You could also just use any shampoo that is residue free, but ALWAYS stay away from conditioner.

better then any soap or shampoo is baking soda
mix 1/3 cup with a gallon of water pour over your head (no scrubbing needed) allow to soak 10 minutes or more..up to 30
rinse will

never use wax period
wax never comes out of dreads
use pure aloe gel instead, or nothing.

dread wax slows dread progress
it makes almost all waxy dreads get cut in under 5 years
waxy dreads tend to mold as wax traps water and dirt

aloe vera rinses right out so wont build up like wax

Yes. There are black Americans with naturally red hair as red hair isn't just trait exclusively for one race.

No. Many red heads (gingers) have hair that lies flat to their heads, and though some have curlier hair, it's not that same type curly hair that black people grow.

How do catapillars weave there coccoons?

Caterpillars weave their cocoons using a silk produced from specialized glands in their mouths. They spin this silk into a protective covering by secreting it in a liquid form, which hardens upon exposure to air. The caterpillar typically attaches the cocoon to a stable surface, allowing it to secure itself while undergoing metamorphosis into a butterfly or moth. The process involves careful manipulation of the silk threads to create a durable structure that shields the developing pupa.

If I have damaged hair from untangling 1 year old dreadlocks and want to dye my hair black will I look like a broom?

After untangling Dreaded hair, it's usually not damaged. When you brushed them out you pulled out all the loose and damaged hair that was locked. if it is damged for about a week, use hydrating shamppoo and conditioner, and use a leave in conditioner to get it soft and lively again (i did this after i had dyed my hair red multiple times then bleached it and it murdered my hair) also a trim to get the dead ends might help. but then you can dye your hair after its better. just kno that if you don't like your hair black you're going to have to live w/ it until you dye it a different color. Black dye never comes out of your hair.

How do you get the weaving skill?
