I went to Orbitz's website and looked up a non-stop flight. It's about six hours. Of course, you are flying through a couple of time zones so if you leave at noon, then you will get there at 4 PM. It's actually a six hour flight. If you leave Anchorage at noon, you would arrive in Chicago around 8 PM although it's actually a six hour flight.

So yes it does rain. Right on top of all the snow. Sometimes it slushes. Slush is when the water is stuck between rain and snow. It all depends on what part of the state you're in though. Valdez and Thompson Pass get the most snow in the state (Thompson Pass record is 974.2 inches or just over 82 feet) In other places they get less than a foot of snow.

Texas has about 24,785,000 residents and Alaska has about 699,000. Texas has more then 24 million people then Alaska and is slowly gaining in population as other states barely hold their own.
