Is the book that Nicholas Flamel has in The Alchemyst a real book?
The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel is a series of six fantasy novels.
What is used for fortune telling in alchemy?
Alchemy is a science like the ancient quemistry and it was not an occult practice.
What are the advantages of alchemy?
Alchemy has been historically significant for its contributions to the development of modern chemistry and medicine. It also played a role in the advancement of various scientific principles and laboratory techniques. Additionally, the pursuit of alchemy often involved a philosophical exploration of the nature of reality and the search for spiritual enlightenment.
What are names for the four elements?
The four elements are typically referred to as earth, air, fire, and water.
Alchemy is generally dated back to being practiced in Old Kingdom Egypt; a period from the Third Dynasty through to the Sixth Dynasty (2686 BC-2181 BC). But it was knowledge that only the most powerful persons in Egypt possessed such as the high priest and the pharaoh.
Is Nicholas Flamel still alive?
Yes I am
Nicolas, if you are still alive please contact me at peoplehi@live.ca I want to hear your wisdom, and hear about the one dream you will never forget.
Who are the contributors in alchemy?
Alchemy was a pseudoscience with several differing branches. The aims of these various branches were to:
Chemistry, as a scientific discipline, gradually demonstrated that these aims were either impossible or not viable. Transforming elements was possible but only through nuclear fusion or fission and these processes were not economically worthwhile.
There were, however, many well known scientists who were also alchemists: among them Roger Bacon, Tycho Brahe, Isaac Newton.
Was nicholas flamel a real person?
Yes, there were people with that name. They lived in France and were alchemists (yes Perenelle too!) They were very charitable and founded several hospitals, charities, etc. Nicholas was 20 when they married and Perenelle was 30. Together they had one child (possibly.) Perenelle was a widow. Oh! and they found the key to immortality : p. Tomb robbers raided their graves, but found no bodies. And that about sums up who they were!
How old is Nicholas Flamel in the first Harry Potter book?
Harry Potter was one year old in the first chapter. The book then skips ahead nine years and Harry is ten. At the end of the third chapter he turns eleven.
To be accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry a student must be 11 years old. They receive a letter of invitation in the July of the year they turn 11 and must respond accordingly by the 31st of July.
Alchemy is just early science. There is nothing intrinsically evil about learning by doing.
part of alchemy was taking certain things and turning them into something else. e.g cooking.
Answer 2:It is always real and will always be.
the main true goals of alchemy were:
1. "perfect" ordinary metals into their purest state: gold
2. "perfect" humans into their purest state: everlasting life and/or eternal youth through the "elixer of life".
3. (some other minor and less popular goals were to create a "universal solvent", a liquid which could dissolve any substance (including the container it was in), and to create homunculi, or artificial humans)
thanks to alchemy, most of these can be preformed now or in the near future.
but if you think about it, without alchemy, we wouldn't have human life. you have to learn to crawl before you learn to walk.
(if you have any other goals of alchemy and/or more detailed explanations of the goals, please add to my answer, but don't delete it. thank you.)
What do you study for alchemy?
You can study the various writings of famous alchemists throughout the centuries and follow them in an attempt to find out more information about chemicals or you can try to apply modern chemistry to the ideas in the books. Books and other writings by chemists can also be used for some knowledge of alchemy since chemistry was derived from alchemy. There are also some online colleges that offer various courses on alchemy the best known of these colleges is Nicolas Flamel college. Beware if you find information look up the chemicals used for the experiment as some chemicals when mixed with each other can result in the release of poisonous gas, explosions, or chemical burns. A final important note is not to eat or drink any chemicals or the results of mixing multiple chemicals as some ancient clans hired alchemist's to find the key to immortality resulting in at least one documented case of a family dieing out because they were told by alchemist's that ingesting mercury would result in immortality neither party knowing that mercury is poisonous.
In the process of achieving both goals of alchemy which are known to be the turning of base metals such as lead into gold and the creation of the philosopher's stone/elixer of life, many modern fields of study were created due to or influenced by alchemy. These fields are chemistry, medicine, astrology, mysticism, spiritualism, metallurgy, physics, and art.
The earliest recordings of alchemy suggests that it developed independently from two places: Hellenistic Egypt in Western culture and Ancient Imperial China in the East. The exact dates and locations are disputed, however.
Alchemy is a complex and often mystical practice that is not commonly taught in a traditional academic setting. However, there are contemporary books, courses, and online resources available that can provide information and guidance on the principles and techniques of alchemy. Additionally, seeking out experienced practitioners or joining alchemical communities can also be valuable sources of learning.
The Elric brothers are relatively famous for preforming alchemy.
Where does Nicholas Flamel live now?
Nobody knows. If he really did succeede in forging the Philosopher's stone, he's probably living anonymously like he has (according to the stories) for much of his life. If he didn't succeede, he's buried somewhere (possibly a potter's field somewhere in Europe, having been destitute the last we heard from him)
England although I am not quite sure if it is true.
_____________________________________________________________
Nicholas Flamel was born in Paris on the 28th of September 1330, and he was recorded to have died in 1418, but no-one knows whether he is actually in his tomb or whether it is empty. I doubt that he is immortal, as even today we have not found the secret to eternal life, but he was remembered as one of the best alchemysts of his time. If he would be living, I doubt he would be in england, but his home country; France, instead.
The earliest forms of alchemy may have been around for well over 2,500 years and is still practiced today whether in the classical term alchemy or in the fields it gave birth to or influenced which include: chemistry, medicine, philosophical and/or spiritual discipline, metallurgy, physics, astrology, semiotics, mysticism, spiritualism, and art. It's basic form has been practiced in Europe, Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, Persia, India, Japan, Korea, China, Classical Greece and Rome, and in the Muslim civilizations while in the varying forms it either gave birth to or influenced it can be assumed it is practiced in even small parts of every modern country, though this is just a rough estimate.
Well... if you know how to do it, I guess not, but otherwise, I would guess it would be dangerous in the hands of someone who had just finished watching one episode of Fullmetal Alchemist.
But you could try! Just be very, very careful!
Alchemy ended during the 18th century as a result of the birth of modern chemistry.
What is a cinnabar in alchemy?
Cinnabar was the reddish ore from which mercury was extracted. Its composition is the compound mercury sulfide (HgS).
It`s not a religion per say...
It`s is more of a spiritual path in that aspect !
But everyone is doing it.
Since birth to deah, always learning, always transforming.
