I don't recommend taking two different antihistamines together without your doctor's say-so. Taking too much antihistamine causes excessive sleepiness, which could interfere with your job or school. It might also make you fall asleep at the wheel. Too much antihistamine use also causes excess dryness, which can cause a splitting sinus headache and trouble urinating.

My eight and a half month year old was recently tested. I don't have all the specifics on what is considered normal range at what specific age, but I was told that a normal level for him should have been 15 and that at 44 his level was definitely high.

Food allergy is an immune system reaction that occurs soon after eating a certain food. Even a tiny amount of the allergy-causing food can trigger signs and symptoms such as digestive problems, hives or swollen airways. In some people, a food allergy can cause severe symptoms or even a life-threatening reaction known as anaphylaxis.

Allergies to and irritation from some things can cause upper respiratory symptoms that are similar to some of the symptoms of influenza, since they are affecting the same types of tissue in the respiratory system. You can be allergic to anything that is not "endogenous" ie produced by the body itself. Any drug or man made chemical can be a possible allergen. I have seen people allergic to piriton (chlorphenamine) - a drug that is commonly used to treat allergic reactions :).

A true allergic reaction includes anaphylaxis (serious). Urticarial rashes (itchy and wheal like - like being stung by nettles or a bee) and facial swelling also suggest a true allergic reaction. Other symptoms such as palpitations, nausea, sickness, diarrhea, headaches, feeling "off" may or may not be allergic reaction - they tend to suggest intolerance or known effects of the drug (eg caffiene is known to give you palpitations, flushing and headaches in higer doses) rather than a true allergy per se.

Although there are dogs that are marketed as having hypoallergenic fur, this is not true. It is actually proteins in the dog's saliva that trigger allergies. When they lick their paws or fur, they spread these proteins. This happens with all dogs, no matter what pet stores and breeders may tell you. It does help to clean regularly to pick up any loose fur that is in the house. Keeping the dog rinsed or bathed to reduce the amount of saliva on the fur also helps. You cannot bathe them every day, or it will dry and irritate their skin. However, a simple water rinse will help.
