What can cause Sore red bumps on my tongue?

The sore, red, bumps you are experiencing are in fact infected taste buds.

They go away on there own in between 3 to 5 days, or you can use a clean pare of

tweezers and carefully pull out the infected one, it will bleed a bit but it does instantly

feel a whole lot better. I would much rather pull it out then leave it in, because even though it will heal in 3 to 5 days its still painful waiting.

Can you take unisom and Xanax?

What causes sinusitis?

SinusitisSinusitis is a symptom which manifests usually with upper respiratory tract infections.

Sinusitis is an infection of the sinuses- it can be caused by viruses or bacteria. Allergies can also cause sinusitis symptoms. The sinuses are hollow areas in the bones of the face and forehead. The most common sinuses infected are the maxillary sinuses, located above the teeth on both sides of the nose, or the frontal sinuses, located in the skull behind the eyebrow area. There are several other sinuses in the face/nose region. Symptoms include pain in the area of the infected sinus ('sinus headache'), persistant drainage from the nose, and can also include fever, sore throat, and persistant cough (from post nasal drip). Viral sinusitis is usually self limited, and only requires symptomatic treatment, but bacterial sinusitis frequently requires antibiotic treatment as well. A Family Practice, Internist, or ENT specialist can diagnose the condition and treat appropriately.

There are other more rare types, including yeast and fungal sinusitis, but these generally occur in special populations, such as people whose immune systems are compromised, or occasionally in a person using a steroid type nasal spray. The treatment for these is generally an oral antifungal medication.

Sinusitis is brought on by a number of different factors. Here is a list of some of the causes of sinusitis:

  • Fungi: Inhaled or ingested, microscopic fungi affect your immune system and aggravate your sinuses.
  • Bacteria: Blocked sinus openings and resultant mucus accumulation create an ideal environment for bacterial growth. This prevents the cilia from functioning properly and causes the mucus membrane to swell.
  • Allergens: Allergens that can trigger sinusitis include air-borne particles, pet dander and certain food items.
  • Viruses: A viral infection can destroy or paralyze cilia, causing mucus build up.
  • Immune system problems: Immune deficiency can prevent cilia from functioning normally and resisting infection.
  • Structural problems in the nasal cavities: A deviated septum or very narrow sinus openings can cause difficulty in breathing when the mucus membranes swell.
  • Colds and Flu: Bacterial sinusitis usually develops after an allergy attack or a cold/flu. The excess mucus your body produces when you have a cold becomes stagnant and builds up in your sinuses, creating a breeding ground for bacteria.
  • An irritation in the sinuses can occur as a result of extreme weather changes and poor air quality (smoke, dust and other air pollutants).
  • Asthma sufferers are known to be more prone to this condition.
  • Many people enjoy the fall season, when the leaves start to change colors, but others suffer from cold and flu-like symptoms that they can't get rid of. When your face still hurts, your nose is still stuffy and you still have a cough weeks later, you could have sinusitis.

Whatever the cause of your sinusitis, Sinus-Pro has a remedy for you. Say goodbye to annoying and often debilitating sinusitis symptoms, including:

  • Facial pains
  • Tenderness of the sinus areas
  • Headaches
  • Nasal drainage that is thick and colored

  • Upper jaw pain
  • Sore throat
  • Sensitivity of eyes to light
  • General fatigue
  • Swelling of eye lids

Can allergies lead to asthma?

Some studies have shown that people with asthma are more likely to suffer panic attacks. Having asthma was linked to a 4.5-fold increase in the risk of developing panic disorder, a condition characterized by repeated, unexplained panic attacks. And people with panic disorder were six times as likely as people without the anxiety condition to develop asthma over the 20 year follow-up period.

The asthma link was much stronger among people who had panic disorder than in those who had infrequent panic attacks. Smokers and those with a family history of allergies were also at increased risk. Smoking is known to exacerbate both asthma and panic disorder.

"Asthma is a very frightening condition to have," says Mike Thomas, MD. "When you repeatedly have episodes where you are fighting for breath it is not a great leap to think that that might push you toward a formal anxiety disorder if you are vulnerable."

How does Zyrtec help allergies?

http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/503104_Figures This link listed above will bring you to a site that provides diagrams which illustrate the immune response. Zyrtec is an H1-receptor antagonist. Zyrtec appears to compete with the histamine molecule (produced by mast cells) for cellular binding sites... so the histamine lacking for an available binding site does not have a chance to trigger a series of events which result in the allergic symptoms we experience.

What can you do for an ear infection?

immediately apply ice (or run under cold water) for 20min. Then apply an antiseptic cream (this will prevent the burn from infecting). A day or so later, apply a layer of either bio oil, combusten or melem to prevent it from scarring. Repeat this process and it will get better in no time :) REMBER: if the burn blisters i do not suggest purposely popping it. If your burn is large and severe refer to a doctor ASAP.

What causes sharp pains on top of head?

Ice pick headache is a kind of neuritis. A nerve in that area has become inflamed and gives rise to these lightning bolts of pain which come without warning, are very acute and make you jump. In between jolts, that area of the scalp may be hypersensitive to even the lightest touch. Most common cause of all this is actually overlooked by most doctors: riding around in a car with your window open (especially with damp hair), or sleeping in a draft. Of course, there are many other possible causes, from being generally run down, stressed, related to eye problems, and so on. These attacks usually occur spasmodically for a few days and then go away of their own accord. It is very unpleasant and scary but is harmless for the mostpart. Treatment is difficult since the symptom lasts only a second or two and the only effective preventative drugs tend to cause bad digestion problems. Wear something warm on your head and ride it out. Don't stress about it. Avoid drafts, especially try to keep hair dry and wear a cap, scarf, or whatever if you can.
