What do gothic believe in?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The Goths in ancient history were a group of tribes including the Ostrogoths, Visigoths, Lombards, and Vandals. They were of Germanic origin and for the most part probably practiced variations of the Pagan religions of Northern Europe. These religions were most likely similar to that of the Vikings, but most records of it were obliterated when these people converted to Christianity, except for a few documents written by Romans, but they were in all probability filled with propaganda and misconceptions. Gaining an accurate picture of their religious beliefs would be almost impossible now.

See "Asatru" as this is most likely as close as you can get to understanding the religious traditions of the Goths.

(Note that "Gothic" is also a term for a style of European ecclesiastic architecture. It succeeded Norman architecture, typified by semicircular arches, and adopted the more efficient pointed arches. In Victorian England, the fashion for Gothic architecture was revived, abandoning the sublime elegance of Georgian architecture.

It follows that in this context "Gothic" refers to Christianity).

What religion eats people?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Surely, at one taste of human meat by a human, the result is vomiting on and on.

Some people "do things for the effect" (A bad effect), only by saying something outrageous, and baiting others, and then call it a joke. I believe that it's only hoax or joke that started the idea of cannibalism, and still people, the inferior ones, like to send hoax documents to magazines to print on 1st April (April Fool's Day), and even some usually trustworthy magazines feel ok about printing that one or other civilisations ate their own babies. In fact, we in these days, cannot prove it, or disprove it, scientifically. Any blood cells or bones from an excavation only prove, often, it's a human. They cannot say what the human ATE, except for 3 days prior to death.

I have noticed that the rumours of whom ate human flesh, the writings in the journals and magazines, ALWAYS say: "some scientist proved this", but none of them printed the real and true NAME of the scientist, or archeologist. The next person that tells myself that elephants spend a lot of time using their trunks to dig a cave for themselves, will be told I'm not impressed, and yet, the elephant joke that had a photo that was a camera-trick, that was printed in THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC! I therefore can only conclude that I lost my respect of the National Geographic, the day I read that silly elephant joke that they printed and wrote as "being a fact... amazing... but true!". About the canniblism myth: people do die and do leave behind skeletons, so a skull on a stick does not mean cannibalism, it means someone died a long time ago, just that.

Did the Nazi exile people because of religion?

There seems to be a lot of confusion about this. The Nazis persecuted the Jews on grounds of race, not religion. In some cases, for example Jehovah's Witnesses, people's religion brought them into conflict with the Nazis.

What is santanic means?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Santanic is a a word to describe rituals and behavior followed by people who believe in Santa.

Santa is a supernatural creature, in the form of an older white skinned male, usually depicted dressed in a red robe and cap with a long white beard. He does not appear to his believers, but can be observed by his actions, in particular the leaving of gift-wrapped presents for children under certain coniferous trees in the late evening of the 24th December and the early hours of 25th December.

A particular ritual followed by millions of adherents is to erect a small tree, or a synthetic imitation tree, representing a specific conifer indigenous to northern Europe. This tree is erected inside houses and decorated in bright tinsels and lights.

In this way the adherents hope to attract Santa to the home and to entice him to leave gifts under the tree.

Many adherents also provide attractant sustenances for him, in the form of milk and cookies, or sometimes an alcoholic drink and cookies. This is always observed to have been consumed by the morning, reinforcing the belief that Santa has called during the night.

Santanic rituals or Santanism in general, is widespread but tolerated. It is not considered harmful by most western christian communities. Some christian religious sects (eg. Jehovahs Witnesses) do deny his existence and do not practice Santanism.

How can you summon a demon and please a real answer would be nice?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

One OpinionI do not recommend this course of action. By summoning a demon you open yourself to having it take over your life. Perhaps not by possession but demons are evil beings. Demons are attracted to fear, death and pain and many negative emotions or things.

DO NOT ATTEMPT WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO DO! Spend your life looking for your inner truth. Make the world a better place. Don't bring down your own world.

Another OpinionAlthough we regularity hear of demon summoning, and fiction (movies, books and TV) have a fascination for the possibility. In a lifetime of research I have not found a single entry in any of the grimoires I have studied that explain how to actually do it. Mostly I have seen spells and rituals to reverse the effects when someone has been ill advised enough to try. I would add my own voice to the above and recommend you rethink your plan of action, however, I can not force the issue.

What is the Two by two religion beliefs?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I know their beliefs are no different than any other Christian beliefs but they mostly based on the new testament and not the old one. They do not believe in churches as house of the lord, they believe that in your heart is where the lord belongs, so they ignore churches. And less modern life like women with make-ups is a no no, Television is a not an option because of their kids growing up in this modern world. I know a little bit about this because I'm married to one.. .

More information:

They reject a number of mainstream Christian doctrines. They are anti-trinitarian and don't believe in the Holy Trinity. So they have Unitarian beliefs and don't see Jesus as God. Their view of salvation requires self-sacrifice. While their faith has some roots in the Holiness movement, it is not charismatic in nature. They believe in modest dress and discourage use of media. Those who have divorced and remarried may not be allowed to take part in certain meetings, depending on the area.

What is kabalah?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Mystical teachings that deal with the ideas of creation and concepts of a spiritual nature. Broadly speaking, the Jewish mystical tradition seeks to investigate, to the extend that such is possible and admissible, why and how the blessed Creator created (and and continuously re-creates) His world. "To the extend that such is possible": any insight we may gain in these matters is always from our point of view and inasfar as He chooses to show us. "To the extend that such is admissible": when dealing with a nuclear reactor one exercises a certain caution. That's just a piece of technology. The "active core" that makes the world tick is incomparably more powerful and not just physically but first and foremost spiritually. Due care is of the essence.

Kabbalah is not something distinct from Judaism. It is not a sect that you can join. In order to access its treasures one needs a thorough grounding in Jewish learning: Tanakh, Mishna, Talmud, commentaries, ethical and moral literature, etc etc.

Kabbalah cannot be found on the Internet. Period. It also has no "Holy Water", magical stones or miraculous bracelets.

  • Kabbalist Yehuda Ashlag (Baal HaSulam) provides the following definition in his article "The Essence of the Wisdom of Kabbalah":

This wisdom is no more and no less than a sequence of roots, which hang down by way of cause and effect, in fixed, determined rules, interweaving to a single, exalted goal described as, "the revelation of His Godliness to His creatures in this world."

Additional:

It is not a ''faith'', but a science. It may have its origin in trying to reconcile the apparent ''errors'' in the Torah that even a beginner in the study of Hebrew would not make. By methods too involved to enter into here, the text was, is and will continually be ''decoded'' to reveal, to the discerning student under the guidance of a good teacher, wonderful things about the relationship between the Divine and phenomenal worlds, secrets of living a happy and fulfilled life, and even scientific knowledge not otherwise available. For instance, in the section of the Zohar named "Bereshith" it is said that ''white is the colour that contains all colours." This was written down centuries before Newton experimented with light passing through a prism, and replaced the then current hypothesis (that the white light ''excites'' the crystal to emit colours) with the idea of the colour spectrum concealed within the white light.

In the same way, the study of the Torah with the methods of Kabbalah, while not undermining the value of the surface text (the white light) reveals the spectacular secret of the spectrum (Kabbalistic Knowledge, Understanding and Wisdom).

Answer:Among other things, the Kabbalah delves into the details of the Upper Worlds (the Sephirot).

What is the name of the Islamic festival of light?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

There isn't one. There is a Festival of Breaking the Fast (Eid al Fitr) after the fasting month of Ramadan and the Festival of Sacrifice (Eid al Adha) at the of Hajj when an animal is slaughtered to give to the poor and needy as the Prophet Abraham did with his son Prophet Ismail. Neither of these is a festival of light.

However, other religions do have festivals of light. The Jewish festival of light is Hanukkah, the Hindu festival of light is Diwali, and the Japanese festival is Tōrō Nagashi (or the Festival of Floating Lanterns).

What are some important places in christianity?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Mt. Carmel Mt. Carmel Vatican City
This is really tough to answer. In one sense you have to remember that protestants don't have "holy places." God is everywhere so you can worship him equally everywhere.

But in another sense, some places are powerful reminders of Jesus. In that way, Jerusalem is very important to Christianity.

What religions believe that god created the earth?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Another answer from our community:

The Catholic Church defines God as the uncreated Creator, the uncaused cause, etc. In other words, be definition, God is that which is uncreated, uncaused, He is the beginning, without which there is nothing. Everything came into being from Him. As such, there can only be one God, because outside of Himself, nothing else can be. The definition of God, as given by God Himself, was His name in Genesis: I AM. In other words, He is existence, existence itself comes from Him. There can be no "other"

What does the number 333 mean?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

To most people, 333 has no significance at all.It does have different meanings to different people. In slag, it means "half evil." To some Christians, it symbolizes the Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit). In numerology, it can mean that your spirit guide agrees with you. In the occult, it is used in connection with an entity called Choronzon and "333 current." 333 can have other meaning to other groups.

There are no references to the number 333 in scripture. Though it is half of Satan's number 666, a stretch of the immagination could have it representing his followers. That however is most unlikely.

What is the born again religion?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Everybody was born once: this is the physical birth. Jesus Christ tells Nicodemus that to see the kingdom of God [heaven] he has to be born again spiritually. This is done by the Holy Spirit through the Word of God. Born-again Christians are Bible-believers who believe it is literally true and is the Word of God written down via the Holy Spirit (see story in John 3:1-17) and these:

Mat 18:3 and said, Truly I say to you, Unless you are converted and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of Heaven.

1Pe 1:22 Purifying your souls in the obedience of the truth through the Spirit to unfeigned love of the brothers, love one another fervently out of a pure heart,

1Pe 1:23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the living Word of God, and abiding forever.

Does God help people?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Contrary to popular belief, God delights in helping those who CANNOT help themselves. The phrase "God helps those who help themselves" is from Aesop's fables, not the Bible. Rom 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
He gave us salvation through our Messiah Jesus Christ.

How do you renounce Christianity?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Check out this link from the Vatican website:

Basically you have to mentally renounce, realize the "external manifestation of that decision", and "reception of that decision by the competent ecclesiastical authority".

Easy enough. Except if you look at #7:

7. "It remains clear, in any event, that the sacramental bond of belonging to the Body of Christ that is the Church, conferred by the baptismal character, is an ontological and permanent bond which is not lost by reason of any act or fact of defection."

.

Catholic AnswerThe document above spells out the way that it is necessary to formally renounce the Catholic Faith. This has the result of rendering you no longer subject to the laws of the Catholic Church. As they have pointed out above, your Baptism makes you ontologically something else: a child of God, and there is nothing that any human can do to "undo" that.
