Opinion only:Augmentin warnings: If you are allergic to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics, check with your physician. People with cystic fibrosis; asthma; hives; diabetes; kidney or liver disease and hay fever are more prone to side effects. Stop taking Augmentin if you experience reactions such as rash, fever, itching, joint pain, swollen lymph nodes, and or sores on the genitals. There is no mention of adverse effects from taking the sun while on Augmentin.

The normal dosage for children is 10 - 20 mg per pound of body weight, but it is to be divided into three doses a day. Also, do not give with fruit juice or carbonated beverages because the acid in these beverages can destroy the drug. It is advisable however, to give with a small amount of food to prevent stomach upset. Most importantly though, keep in mind amoxicillin is a penicillin drug, and if your child has never taken any of the penicillin drugs, s/he needs to be monitored very closely after taking this med to be sure there are no allergic reactions, which can be fatal if not treated in time. As an ex pharmacy tech...amoxicillin is one of the fast movers in the pharmacy it's quite difficult to check it's shelf life but we normally try to keep anti bi for up to one year , 2 years for the most but if it's mixed 10 days ..and it should be on the shelf THROW OUT your amoxicillin! For two reasons: ALL antibiotics should be taken until the bottle is empty. If there are some left over, whoever took it 4 years ago, didn't finish it, which can mess up your immune system. I checked the MSDS on my generic amoxicillin and it doesn't have NSAID - most probably don't, if not all. Now the question is are NSAID and Amox. compatible pharmacologically.
