Probably a large Cory catfish (they only get to 3-4 inches) so that it doesn't get eaten or attacked by the Angelfish. P.S. the Angelfish needs a tank of at least 30 gallons to be happy.

The Puffer fish does NOT belong in a really fresh water tank like an Angelfish needs. It should have totally different water conditions. It will rip and eat the fins of any long finned species of fish like Angelfish. Mollies being very adaptable can handle similar water conditions to either Angefish or Pufferfish.

There is nothing poisonous in or on an Angelfish so they are edible (as are most fish) but I would have thought they were expensive to eat and not a really large enough to satisfy a large hunger.

That very much depends on how many of each. Two Angelfish need a 35 gallon tank. Work it out. Remember the basic rules. :- 1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water. :- Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. :- Every tank needs at least 50% of its water changed every week. Keep the above rules and your fish stand a chance. Fail in any of them and I can guarantee that you will have constant health problems with your fish.
