Please please do not take weight loss pills... they are bad for you. They promise miraculous results but they'll be the start of years and years of yo-yo dieiting. I know, I took them for years and all they helped me do was to get an eating disorder and help me diet myself fatter over the years.

Any antidepressant can make you gain weight. but only a certain percentage of people will gain weight on an antidepressant. Cymbalta is not one of the worst, Paxil and Remeron would be. It is thought that a long term weight gain of a couple of pounds typically, like 1-2% of your body weight (2-5 pounds) can be expected, but benefits generally greatly outweigh the risks, and that more people DON'T gain weight while taking an antidepressant than the other way around.

On the other hand, some psychiatrists tell their patients that weight gain is an expected side effect of antidepressants due to changes their metabolism, and that weight gain is experienced by most of her patients.

I have gained weight on all of the antidepressants I have tried (and there have been many). My internal medicine doctor told me that weight gain is expected on antidepressant drugs, including Cymbalta. It is true that some people don't gain weight but they are in the minority. For the majority of those who do gain weight, it isn't 1-2% of your body weight, but significantly higher. I have never gained less than 20 pounds despite maintaining a diet of around 1000 calories a day and exercising 5-6 times a week. I am interested in finding out the same info. I just started taking Straterra for concentration and inability to focus on any projects. I take 50 mg of zoloft in the morning and 25 around three I started taking 40 mg of straterra but it kept me up the entire night. I now am on 25 mg in the morning I am on day three and experience alot of tingling in the back of my head and legs. I also get alot of goose bumps like as if a cool draft came over me does anyone have any response?

According to my pharmacist, it is safe. But I still plan to check with my doctor since the leaflet mentions the dosage of Strattera might need to be adjusted with the addition of Prozac and other like medications.

Cymbalta side effects/symptoms after stopping it, even low dosage, can be quite unpleasant and frightening. Those so called "zaps" in the head that some people have discussed online, can continue for quite a while. I consider it a drug not to be used unless absolutely necessary and even then recommend you be monitored closely. Not so impressed! The price of this drug is outragious!

It does not make a difference when in the day you take Lexapro; it is just important that you take it at the same time each day consistently. The best time of the day to take it is when you are most likely to remember to take it.

Each person reacts differently to Lexapro and therefore it is up to you to determine when it is best for you to take it. Eg: If it causes you to be drowsy take it at night. If it causes insomnia then take it in the morning.
