Is Effexor XR safe during pregnancy?
I don't know if it is dangerous, but i do know it is a very strong anti depressant. The doctor put me on this my junior year in high school and to this day (now 22) i remember exactly how it made me feel. I was more angry on it, i felt a constant fuzz feeling in my brain, and i felt like i was more out of control on it then i was before i got on it. After I got into an argument that i had started for no apparent reason i quit taking it that day and never returned to that doctor. I remember the urge to literally hurt somebody. I was shortly put on another medication that i can't remember the name but i had NONE of the effects that i did from effexor..
What happens when you mix Prozac and alcohol?
It's not so much a matter of reaction as it is efficacy. Alcohol is a depressant and Prozac is an antidepressant. Excessive alcohol use/abuse counteracts the antidepressant effects of Prozac. Basically, it will not work as well, if at all.
Also, when there is a reaction, individuals who are on Prozac and use alcohol can experience intoxication more easily and readily. As a result, poor impulsivity and judgment can occur.
Is xanax in small doses bad on your liver Also is Cymbalta or Ambien bad on your Liver?
none of these drugs are damaging to the liver in small doses. Dr. John
Alprazolam (Xanax) is not in the list of drugs classified as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). For a list of antidepressants classified as MAOIs, see the related links section. No, it doesn't contain an MAOI. Xanax (alprazolam) is a benzodiazepine
What is the difference between MAOI and benzodiazepine?
It is something that is not a benzodiazapine. Benzodiazapine is a class of drugs that are used to relax and help symptoms of anxiety and sleeplessness. Obviously there are many more classes of drugs than these too numerous to mention. There are great web sites out there to look drugs up on. an example of a "benzo" is Klonopin, or the generic is clonazepam. They can be a very addictive class of drugs for some people.
Will taking Wellbutrin and Xanax together hurt you?
Tmoxicillin slows down the metabolism rate of wellbutrin. That means that after a while of taking both of them, there becomes a buildup of wellbutrin in your system and this can cause problems or in my case a seizure on the 10th day of taking them both. Bad idea.
If your bupropion came in a prescription bottle from a pharmacy, there should be a discard date on the bottle, telling you how long your medication is good until. This date is at most a year after you bought your prescription, though it may be shortdated. The "discard after" date is usually located in smaller letters around the "refill" information.
If your prescription came in what is called a "stock bottle", the expiration date is always next to the lot number, usually located on the far side of the label.
No, it is an SNRI. SNRIs act to both serotonin and norepinephrine whilst SSRIs only to serotonin. Venlafaxine (Effexor) is thought to be stronger than SSRIs but may have more side effects due to its double action. In doses over 225mg, it has some moderate action to dopamine.
Will taking Wellbutrin with Zoloft help to lose the weight gained from Zoloft?
My experience with Wellbutrin was yes, it helped me lose weight that I had gained on other anti-depressants. I had been taking EFFEXOR for a long time and kept gaining weight. I was switched to Celexa and told that it shouldn't make me gain weight. I continued to gain weight on the Celexa. I also had sexual side effects. The doctor switched me to Wellbutrin. I had gained 20 lbs. since starting SSRI's. Once I stopped taking those and switched to Wellbutrin, I lost 10 lbs. easily. The other 10 I had to work at to take off, but it came off! On the SSRI's it seemed like no matter what I did to lose weight it wouldn't work. Hope this helps!
Is Wellbutrin the same kind of drug as Adderall?
Two different trade names for the same drug : Bupropion

Can you wean off Xanax with Prozac?
Yes I did. It worked better for me than decreasing does of Effexor from 225mg. I immediately stopped taking Effexor 225mg. Then started with 20mg of Fluoxetine (Prozac) for first week then go to 10mg for second week. I got a 30 day supply of 10mg. Take 2 per day 10 mg for first week..then 1 per day 10mg second week. then throw out the rest. No side effects for me at all. Doctor here in Atlanta recommended it.
Can Wellbutrin cause weight loss?
I might say that exercise is only the best way to prevent weight gain. Wellbutrin is an antidepressant used to treat a variety of conditions, including depression, other mental/mood disorders, and smoking cessation. Despite taking such medicine, I suggest you follow a proper Nutrition Rich Meal to lose weight and develop a daily workout routine in order to get your desired body.
Can you take Effexor with robaxin?
Robaxacet is consumed to control backache while Celebrex is used to control knee and joint pains. Celebrex and Robaxcet can be used together since they both are muscle relaxants and anti-inflammatory drugs.
What is the shelf life of Wellbutrin?
Most prescription drugs do not have a "shelf life" they just begin to lose potency over time. The FDA requires that Zoloft have an expiration date in order to ensure that the patients use the drugs during its strongest potency.
What are the side effects of snorting mirtazapine?
1. Your nose burns for about an hour
2. It feels as if your throat is swollen
3. You'll spend at least a day constantly blowing your nose
- Overall, there are little to no effects from snorting citalopram. You may feel a bit more mellow, but that is about it. I would not recommend it.
Can Wellbutrin and Lexapro be taken together?
I have taken Wellbutrin and Lexapro together everyday for the past 4 years and have had no problems at all. I initially took just Wellbutrin but after about 6 months started having anxiety so my doctor also added Lexapro which was the trick. Although, it may seem strange to be on 2 anti-depressants these two were given to me and was great!
AnswerWhile all medications can have side effects, if your doctor wants you to use those two medications it's because of a problem that he thinks can be solved with that combination. Using the two meds together can be effective for some people. The side effects do not affect all people, that part depends on your body chemistry and even if you do have side effects, reports are that they go away after going off the meds.In general, it's better to do what the doctor suggests, especially when anxiety and depression are involved.
AnswerBOTH medications are antidepressants but in a different class. IF you were prescribed both of them by different doctors, I would definitely check with the doctor or pharmacist. I would still ask even if they were prescribed by the same doctor; it never hurts to question prescriptions you are given. And as I always say, ask your pharmacist for a print-out of the medications. The print-outs have a great deal of information about the drugs including drug/drug interactions, drug/food interactions, it explains exactly what the drug is and how it should be used, just about everything and anything you need to know and then some. It also warns about reactions with over-the-counter drugs, which many people forget to take into consideration. BE SAFE....ASK QUESTIONS.
AnswerMy mom's Dr. Just Prescribed her Lexapro to supplement the 300mg Wellbutrin XL a couple days ago. The Lex takes care of the serotonin and the Wellbutrin re-uptakes the dopamine and the norepeinephrine. Yeah it's gonna totally give your little engine a rehall. In theory, it takes care of all the main factors contributing to depression, but you really never know what chemicals you need and which ones need not be messed with. It's trial and error, dude. The scientific method applied. I hope it works for mama, the lady is in a rut.
AnswerThe answer to this question is YES, Wellbutrin (bupropion) and Lexapro can be taken together. There is no negative interaction. Strangely, the addition of Wellbutrin to Lexapro is said to reverse some of the latter's tendency to interfere with erection, libido, and orgasm in males (and Lexapro is BAD in this respect). The normal dose of Wellbutrin after titrating up from 150mg is 300mg, preferably in the XL (released gradually over time) form, and the Lexapro is normally one 10mg tab QD. I have seen these two meds prescribed together this way but I have not checked with the patients to see if it helped (problem was sexual s/e on the Lexapro). More common for sexual s/e in males is simply a prescription for Viagra. These two antidepressants do inhibit the reuptake of two different neurotransmitters as someone above wrote, but the actual effect of the two meds together is subjective and will be slightly different for everyone. Two antidepressants do not give you twice the antidepressant effect, but may result in a slightly better antidepressant effect, with fewer sexual s/e or reduced anxiety. Fortunately, you can test-drive this combo safely and see what it does for you. Generally, Wellbutrin has mild caffeine-like effects which some pt's like, but others feel it increases their anxiety. It has no sexual s/e. Lexapro does not have the caffeine-like side effects and is supposed to reduce anxiety as well as depression, but it interferes with male sexual function to a greater extent than its maker lets on. Based on what male patients have told me, my guess is that sexual dysfunction is an issue in at least 50% of male pt's taking an SSRI. But the answer to your question is YES, they can be safely taken together. You won't get an adverse reaction like you would combining SSRI's and MAOI's, or MAOI's and tyramine, or even certain SSRI's with other SSRI's.
AnswerI have been taking 10mg Lexpro for three years, and about 3 months ago was put on 150mg wellbutrin XL to counter sexual side effects, most notably lower libido, but most frustratingly, lack of ability to orgasm. There has been some improvement in my mood and activity, and there is a definite change in libido, but the inability to orgasm has again returned. Along with those side effects, I have suffered from headache, transient nausea, muscle cramping and increased tinitus. From other boards I have read, this seems to be side effects from Lexapro, and also Lexapro withdrawal. I want to discontinue the Lexapro, but stay on the Wellbutrin for now. Has anyone done this? I plan a fairly lengthy taper, but I definitely don't want to be on it anymore. It did its job very well, as it stopped my GAD and panic attacks almost immediately and I haven't had a PA for three years, but I can't take the other side effects, especially the sexual effects anymore. I would rather have an occasional panic attack than be asexual right now.EDIT:
Why is female libido never mentioned? Lexapro (and most anti-depressants) do the same exact thing for females as they do for males. It is as though female libido is not as important as whether or not a man can get it up.
In my experience, Wellbutrin is a fantastic addition to if not replacement for antidepressants in regards to sex drive and the feeling of numbness you tend to get when taking antidepressants.
I have GAD, panic attacks, and depression...I have been on lexapro for a year and a half...take the smallest dose you can for sexual side effects for this drug. After a while of being on lexapro I have seen the sexual side effects somewhat subside...I was prescribed wellbutrin but haven't taken it yet for an extra oomph and to quit smoking. but I read the two can have interactions. I still am going to take the two and ride it out to see what happens...but as far as female libido at first I wasn't getting aroused at all then no orgasm but with time (and a little effort and patience!) I am somewhat back to my old self and can have orgasms and I want to have sex...also I just got off birth control about 4 months ago and since getting off the pill my libido climbed a little...hope this helps..good luck
AnswerI had 150mg of Wellbutrin added to my daily Lexapro dosage in January and I was amazed at the results. I had had serious problems with anorgasmia for years and after a month on Wellbutrin, things improved a great deal. After a while, my doctor agreed to let me slowly taper off of Lexapro. I've been on straight Wellbutrin now for five months. I do tend to get a bit more emotional than I am used to but I'm beginning to realize that this might actually be a good thing. When I was on Lexapro, I almost never laughed or cried about anything!I should also add that in addition to moving to Wellbutrin, I did some research on supplements to help combat anxiety. I now take a vegetarian multivitamin, evening primrose oil, Omega 3, and L-Theanine with my daily medication. I have not had any problems with anxiety since I started this regimen.
Answer(Sorry for my poor English; I'm french). My doctor prescribed me 300 mg of Wellbutrin, for 1 year. And haded 5 mg of Cipralex (french name for Lexapro). The results were amazing. In the past i tried other medication and i was not able to fell anything. With Wellbutrin there were no side effect on my libido and no gane of waith. But the anxiety was still there. With only 5 mg of Lexapro the anxiety attack never came back. Now in french: Mon docteur m'a prescrit du Wellbutrin pendant un an. What are the side effects of taking Strattera and Prozac together?
I have been on Effexor 75mg for 1 year, and Strattera 40mg for 2 weeks. I haven't noticed any bad effects at all, but I'm new at this.
AnswerWired and in a surreal feeling world. Shortness of breath. Hoped that I could stop effexor and have no withdrawl from it, but the strattera hasn't mitigated the withdrawl symptoms (mostly 'the zaps'). When I take the effexor many hours after to try to avoid conflict of drugs I go through a phase of nausea and weakness...then I am mostly all right. I Think I have to stop the strattera. AnswerI have been currently taking Effexor 75 mg and Strattera 80 mg for about one year. The innitial effects for me were increased libido and insomnia. eventually the effects faded after a few months, but I still had bouts on occasion. It wasn't until I had a regime of doing 30 min of aerobic activity five days a week, that the drugs made there most positive benefits known. My sleep paterns have stabilized and my ADD symptoms have receded.
I believe it is very important to add aerobic activity, without it the drugs have little effect.
AnswerI am a 27 year old male. I've been on Effexor 150 mg for about two months now and started taking strattera 40 mg a week ago. The Effexor got me out of my depressed state and the Strattera really helped with my concentration. I am happy and productive once again. Working out 5 times a week helps as well. I would like to read other peoples experience with this combination of drugs. Is there a conflict at all? My decrease in sex drive really sucks. My doctor gave me some Viagra and I have tried it. It makes my penis hard as a rock but doesn't really increase my incterest in sex at all. Besides, I don't really feel comfortable taking Viagra at this young an age.Can you mix Zoloft with Prozac?

Is Wellbutrin recommended for ADHD in children?
It depends greatly on your situation. From collected experiences that you can see in the discussion feature of this question, most people seem pleased with the way it eases the ADHD symptoms. There are side effects though, and a few people have had some increase in edginess or anxiety (and far fewer have experienced agitation).
The best way for you to know is to talk with your doctor, and if this treatment is ok for your situation, give it a try and you will know.
Can Prozac and depakote be taken together?
I don't recommend it, I did so, and experienced self-induced seizures.
You can take Depakote with Tramadol as long as you don't exceed more than 3 a day. I am on both meds and the pharamists told me that and I have lived by it, and I have not had seizures but then again I am taking Depakote for BiPolar Disorder not epilepsy.
Can you stop Lexapro after one day?
You might notice some mild withdrawal, but it's unlikely to be much of a problem after only 15 days. If you've decided to stop taking it, I recommend you do so as soon as possible. These drugs are very unpleasant to quit once you've become dependent.
Does Wellbutrin help with anxiety?
In my opinion, yes! The regular Wellbutrin didn't help much for depression or anxiety and gave me migraines. However, the Wellbutrin XL has worked wonders for me. I was taking 150 mg / day and am now taking 150 mg 2x / day. I can now deal w/ anxiety and stress. My husband was just prescribed Zoloft for anxiety. The Dr. says Zoloft works better for men than for women. I can attest to that because the Zoloft didn't help me much.
