Adderall has the potential to increase symptoms of delusions and psychosis, usually when abused. Risperdal acts as a direct antagonist of dopamine receptors which is the site of action for Adderal. It can be prescribed with an anti-psychotic to minimize any danger of side-effects. You and your doctor will decide if the risks outweigh the benefits. It is actually a very commonly prescribed combination of drugs(though I'm not sure for what illness), and is helpful if the person is suffering from negative symptoms of schizophrenia. Although there are some correlations between dopamine receptors and schizophrenia, it is not an absolute and each person may respond differently.

If someone is a middle of a very strong psychosis->no effect. Haldol (Haloperidol) or sth like, may it vanish.

If he is at the beginning of a psychosis, or just milder case.-> 1-2 day back to normality. But still "weird" and some symptoms.

It takes about 1 or 2 months that all symptoms releaved.

I do not know whether there was a relationship but my husband developed spots in his pancreas about six months after taking Abilify. These spots developed into Pancreatic Cancer. He died two years after taking Abilify for only four months. He had all kinds of bad reactions to Abilify. He had a serious tremor in his hand, hit two cars, had two gran mal seizures, could not sleep, and was totally disoriented on Abilify. This new antipsychotic, lurasidone (brand name = Latuda) is designed for treatment of symptoms of schizophrenia. It is metabolized by the cytochrome p450 system 3A4. It should not be taken with medications such as ketoconazole or rifampicin, or with grapefruit juice.

Seroquel can actually CAUSE this type of dystonia, as is the case with many antipsychotics.

My son took NyQuil for about a week while he was catching a cold and all the time he was taking his Seroquel. He went to sleep and never woke up a little over a month ago. PLEASE don't let your loved ones take those two meds without a doctor's care.

Why buy it on the street? Try a Canadian pharmacy. My Medicaid insurance refused to pay for my Seroquel even after several letters and phone calls from my doctor explaining that my need for the medication was genuine, extreme, and well documented. I have vicious insomnia and nothing works but this wonderful drug. It was by chance that I discovered the Canadian pharmacy where it cost me 45.00 for a months worth. The only drug that I have taken with Thorazine was Symmetrel, which helped with the tremors that Thorazine causes. Ask you psychiatrist if he (or she) will prescribe it to you.
