Yes, I do have this problem too. Now that I´m back to school it started all of a sudden. I had it in my late high school years some years ago and now at university its back again. I think it´s simply due to the tension and stress that we pass on from our brain to our belly. Unconsciously of course. Breathing exercise and yoga will help I am sure. Sometimes the rumbling and whatnot also comes from the food I have been eating or well, sometimes also because of a lack of food. I have to work on that because in lectures or exams I don´t want my tummy to make such weird noises! I totally know what you mean! I figured that it´s air that needs to be released but hey, knowing this makes me even more tensed. I don´t want to fart in a room with 200 other people in it, also not one with 20 in it, also not in a room with 2 people in it! You see, I have to start worrying less and don´t be so focused on my body. My advice for me and you and anybody with this problem: RELAX... , it starts in your mind
Why do you refer to someone who think's they're sick as a hypochondriac?
That's just the word for it. But a hypochondriac is not just a person who thinks he's sick. It's someone who has a pattern of thinking he's sick when he isn't. If you think you're sick, you might be sick. In that case, you're not a hypochondriac.
Over time could you trick yourself into thinking that you have a mental disorder?
Yes, you can. You can trick yourself into believing a lot of things. There is actually a disorder called hypochondria, which is the abnormal anxiety/fear for your own health, where you think you have disorders you don't have. It's very possible.
What is the difference between paranoia and a simple phobia?
They are not really related (although people with paranoia can have multiple phobias).
A phobia is a fear of a specific thing or situation (although there is the condition called panophobia, which means fear of EVERYTHING). While it can be highly irrational, the sufferer's view of the world is otherwise unaffected; in fact, a phobia sufferer is usually aware of the irrationality of their own phobia(s).
Paranoia, on the other hand, is a generally unrelated fear of persecution, of being personally and specifically targeted by something or someone. And one of its symptoms is that the sufferer is often unable to see or accept the irrationality of such a state. S/he believes to be right and the others to be wrong.
Yes. Its like a high ringing. That's normal. Its the sound of silence...
The Fugitive Slave Law angered the Northerners a lot.
What phobia is the fear of garbage?
There does not appear to be a scientific term to describe the fear of garbage. Perhaps the fear stems from a fear of what might happen if trash is not disposed of properly. This could mean a possible insect infestation, strong negative odors, or the perception that others wll ridicule or judge you harshly because of it. Bacteria growth on exposed garbage could also lead to illness.
Entomophobia is the fear of insects.
Olfactophobia or Osmophobia is the fear of smells or odors.
Bacteriophobia is the fear of bacteria
Nosophobia is the fear of becoming ill.
Verminophobia is the fear of germs.
Catagelophobia is the fear of being ridiculed.
If your fear begins to negatively affect the quality of your life, or your happiness, then please consult with a doctor to help you to address your fear.
What is the definition of physical reaction?
A physical reaction is the way you physically react to something or someone. An example would be if you do not like onions and you see someone eating onion rings you might turn your head and say yuck.
