Apple products rarely have discounted prices. However, there are a couple ways one can obtain a MacBook Pro for less than the purchase price. Students and faculty can apply for a discount through the Apple Educational Discount Store. One can also buy a refurbished MacBook Pro, or shop online stores such as eBay and Amazon as they often have discounted prices.

Mac is a computer brand from Apple. As far as if it's better, everyone has a different opinion. I am NOT saying this from a bi-est view but I think Macs are better. Yes there are some ways in which PCs are better (for example Apple WAY overcharges for everything), I'm not arguing that fact. If you are willing to save the money, Mac is the way to go. If you just want a simple computer with simple software, PC is the way to go. Your choice.

I don't think you can as I believe "Crossover" is a DUAL video card software so you can link the two together for better usage. ALL laptop only have ONE video card, per se.

The newer laptops have a CPU based "video card" (your basically using part of the main CPU for video) that's used for every day stuff like browsing the web, checking e-mail, etc, as it saves battery life. When you need the power of the "dedicated" video card for use for high end gaming, graphics use, etc. then you can enable that one instead of the CPU one. They cannot be used at the same time.

Apple Store...it is better because where i live they give you an ipod touch free when you buy a laptop or imac (i dont know if they are doing the same thing in the whole usa)

There are many word processors available for the Mac ranging from Microsoft's Word to the free Open Office suite and covering specialist script writing and novel writing word processors in between.

Open a Finder window and select a folder from the Sidebar e.g. Applications. At the bottom of the window it should tell you how many items are in the folder and the total amount of free disc space available to you.

There is no Control Panel in Mac OS X. Various options can be set in System Preferences which is usually included in the Dock on a new Mac. Other options will need to be set in the Preferences of individual applications.

There are 2 different laptops. The Macbook Air and the Macbook Pro. The Macbook Air comes in one size which is 11". The Macbook Pro comes in 2 sizes, 13" & 15". Then there is the Mac Mini which comes without a monitor, keyboard, or mouse. It is very tiny and takes up very little space and you can add any monitor, keyboard, & mouse. Next is the all-in-one iMac which comes in 2 sizes. 21.5", & 27". Top of the line is the Mac Pro tower computer which comes without a monitor, keyboard, or mouse. Each one of these can be configured to your liking.

Your iPad will charge the fastest if connected to an power outlet. If you connect it to a computer for charging, depending on the computer, the iPad may not start charging until the computer is idle or "asleep."

The charging time for any battery operated device always depends on how many times the battery has gone through the drain-charge cycle. For the relatively new iPad version 3, it may be as short as 30 minutes but again, depending on the condition of the battery, may take several hours to get a full charge.

Also, keep in mind that the battery charge icon is not a direct measure of how much charge is left but a software interpretation of battery charge. In other words, it does take into account what you are doing so that the iPad can give you an appropriate warning of "5% charge" if you continue what you are doing.

There are many ways to use the MacBook Pro. Each function uses power.

The fewer functions you use, the longer the battery charge will last. The more functions you use, the faster the battery is drained. Watching a movie takes more power that writing in a word processor.

Apple suggests about a 7 hour use is possible, but it all depends on what you are doing. If you mulit-task, you won't get 7 hours of battery charge.

Lithium polymer batteries need to be charged regularly. If left unattended for months they will loose their ability to be recharged fully if at all.

The MacBook Air does not have a CD/DVD drive built in. It is designed to be used on a wireless network and, if required, would connect to a CD/DVD drive on another computer via the network. An external USB CD/DVD drive can be added.

This question is answered a million times elsewhere, but here it goes again:

Autocad can be used on a Mac laptop via BootCamp and Windows install (or similar trick). It can not be used directly with the Mac OS. You should expect an inferior performance than with a non-Mac laptop with the same configuration and be advised that Autodesk does not support this type of install.

If Autocad is your main work tool, you should stay away from Mac. Try instead the new Lenovo Thinkpad w500, or the upcoming Dell Precision series (available in 2 months) or the HP 8530w. All are (or will be) equiped with the new Intel Montevina CPU and with workstation type GPU which are designed towards Autocad/Photoshop/Maya/etc. softwares.

I'm assuming your budget will permit this type of laptops (you are asking about Mac...). If you want cheaper machines, look for the Lenovo Thinkpad t61p (it was discontinued yesterday, 5th August) which is a very good option and should have nice prices ($1500 for a maxed out laptop), or the HP 8510w, or the dell precision m series.

Yes it will work but the performance will be annoying.Actually i am running(though not smoothly) it on my gma 950 with win xp sp3 Intel Pentium dual core 1.8ghz & 1 gb Ram.All i can say you will get playable fps.Trust me it works.
