Your air mass flow meter may need replacing. The way to test is to open the bonnet then start the car. After you have started it pull the plug from the air mass flow meter. This is a plug connected up to the air intake of the engine, just after the air filter, and before the engine. If as soon as you pull it out the rev counter settles (the engine will revert to a default setting once it loses the output from the air mass flow meter) then you should have the air mass flow meter changed at the eariest oppourtinity. They cost about £100, and you would be much better off getting it done by a small private company so Audi don't rip you off. My Audi mechanic friend tells me its a common problem with these cars and Audi will charge £350 for the job.

The door mirror unit on an Audi A3 is removed by the inner cover and taking out the retaining screws. The mirror can then be pulled away, the adjustment cable disconnected, and the mirror removed.

Audi say 75k before they require changing but I'd do it at 65k. Don't forget that the water pump should also be changed at the same time. Makes it a bit more expensive but better that than it seizing and causing massive amounts of damage to your engine.

You only need to bleed it if your running R-12. If you're running R-134, and the compressor cycles when you turn on the ac then usually you can just add a lb of R-134. Dont add too much though because too much will restrict the ac too. I generally use an old fridge compressor to purge and pump down the system, then add the recommended ammount of 134. This should be listed on a tag on the fan/radiator cover (in the front of the van) Hope this helps.

There is a removable cover in the dash on the driver's side. It is in the section that is hidden when the door is closed. There is a small notch used to open it. The top of the key can be used for this.
