Will my 10 week old blue heeler's ear prick up?

Most likely. Australian Cattle Dogs are born with their ears floppy, but eventually they should stand up. It does not happen with some dogs until they are a few months old. In rare cases, a dog's ears will stay floppy, though this is a flaw in the show ring. (Perfectly fine for a pet!)

What is the average life span of a cattle x staffy?

The average lifespan for an Australian Cattle Dog is between 12 and 15 years, although one Cattle Dog called Bluey lived to be 29 years of age. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier has an average lifespan of between 12 and 14 years, but this is often surpassed. Therefore, I should imagine that an Australian Cattle Dog X Staffordshire Bull Terrier might live for between 12 and 15 years - or perhaps longer considering that mixed breed Dogs commonly live longer than purebreds. However, I can only predict.

AnswerEvery dog is different. Some lick, some don't. You can use a product called Bitter Apple to stop this. If your dog licks more than you want he/she to, you can train them not to as a puppy by common training skills and techniques.

Why is the Red Heeler an aggressive dog breed?

Red Heelers are a herding dog. This means that some of their natural behaviors could b deemed undesirable. For example barking, chewing, chasing, digging, defending territory, and nipping heels.

7 month old Australian red heeler is it a good family dog?

1. If you have enough space. We had a heeler on half an acre and he escaped many, many times.

2. If you have the right kind of fence. Privacy, high chain link and concrete or brick are the best. Heelers can dig and if they are very strongly motivated, they are very good at climbing chain link.

3. If you are prepared to break them of nipping (if they are not already trained out of it).

4. If you are prepared to surf website after website,in search of that one piece of information that you need.

5. If you a prepared to try many training techniques and have many fail.

6. If you are ready for a dog that could live to be twenty or more.

7. If you are prepared to teach them that strangers are their friend and cats are not chase toys.

8. If you are ready for an active dog.

Then you are ready to welcome a heeler into your home.

There are many positive things about heelers.

Let's just say that:My dog is my best friend. He has saved lives in little ways. he is a joy to have around and I would trust him with my young sister any day.

How old do red heeler dogs get before their ears stand up?

From my limited observations, I'm certain that they may be erect as soon as 7-8 weeks especially when the inherited ear is particularly small. Similarly size can have the opposite effect, where-by they often aren't convincingly standing, (flopping about at anything above a stiff gait) until they are easily twice that age. I have owned two that were still not firmed until late, almost having me convinced they never would, but they did.

A red Heeler is just a red Heeler it isn't mixed with anything. Australian Cattle Dogs aka Heelers come in two different colors red and blue.

Schnauzer mixed heeler dogs?

Yes!!!!! If you mix a Miniature Schnauzer and a Blue heeler and mix them you the animal (Only avable in Nashville) US $100.00!

I have that mix and let me say that Timber (his name) is one of the most loving and faithful dogs I have ever had. He is great with my nieces (1 and 4 years old), but because of his Blue Heeler side, he does have his own mind set. He is a very smart, almost deviously smart dog. When we moved to a new home he learned to jump and climb the fence so it was a daily contest between he and my dad as my dad added to the fence to make it harder for him to get out. He held his own until my dad added a rolling post to the top of the fence that kept Timber from getting a footing and getting out.

They have the most expressive eyes and mouth of any dog I have ever seen, you can tell their mood just from the lookos they give you. Such a cute dog. I recommend them to anyone who has the patience to deal with their playful mischevious side. If you can, you'll be rewarded with one of the best friends you ever had.

(To the previous answer, I apologize if it seems like I'm trying to take your thunder, but I love Timber to death and am so proud of him. I brag on him more than my brother brags on his daughters lol)
