Does pure bred blue heeler dogs have blue eyes?

No. If they have blue eyes, then they are not full blood. However, they may have blue eyes as a puppy.

Is the Australian Cattle Dog a good breed for inexperienced dog owners to own?

Most likely no. If it is your first time owning a dog, try to avoid ones whose breed has a past in herding. especially if you don't have a lot of land, or the time to get your dog involved in a sport, such as agility or frisbee competitions. Australian cattle dogs like to keep busy. They are wonderful dogs, and my australian cattle dog is the smartest dog i've ever had the priviledge of training. But it takes very strict consistent owners to make an australian cattle dog a good inside pet. If they don't have anything to do during the day, you will most likely come home to holes in your shoes, furniture, and anything they think will get them out of boredom. And once they've discovered something that gets them out of boredom they tend to go back to it and its hard to break that habit. Ours is notorious for knocking over the garbage can, jumping on the table when there is food out, and barking at anything and anyone. She can also learn any trick i could ever wish to teach her, but she can be very devious and I feel sad for her sometimes that she missed out on a life of living on a ranch and herding cattle, which is what she would really love to do. But she was our first dog, and mostly an inside dog, and we had the worst time with her for a few years. I recommend if you are looking for your first pet, not to get an australian cattle dog.

Why hasn't my heeler changed color much Mom's a blue dad is a red?

I don't know how old your cattle dog is but they are all born white (with coloured patches). The colour will change by the time they are around 6 weeks old and from that time will only slightly deepen in colour until they reach maturity. My red heeler had one red parent and one blue parent. She was mated to a red dog and had 8 pups. They were all white, but a few weeks later 7 were red and 1 was blue!

Why are alstralian cattle dog puppies so fat?

They aren't "fat"

they are a very sturdy, muscular, compact breed with skill to show.

WHile some turn out to be small and thick, others can grow up to be taller and thin. It all depends upon the genetics.

But to your question, the pups have their muscular shapes already prominant when young. ANd hey, all puppies are chubby and cute :D

Are Australian cattle dogs compatible with Siberian huskies?

Yes indeed they are if both dogs are well socialized they will get along fine, A nine week old Australian cattle dog and a four year old husky are playing at my feet just now as I type this answer. If the question was more along the lines of breeding compatibility then the answer would depend on personal preference, and I would say yes probably would produce good looking dogs with ranging personalities.

Do blue heeler have due claws on their back paws?

Neither the American nor the English Kennel Club Breed Standard's for Blue Heeler's (Australian Cattle Dogs) stipulate whether or not this breed should have hind dew claws. However, most Blue Heelers do not have hind dew claws so if a puppy is born with hind dew claws, they should be removed.

What do you get when you cross breed a blue heeler with a pitbull?

You get a potentially dangerous dog. Blue heelers have an aggressive tendency which is usually trained under control by a good handler on a cattle or sheep station. When mixed with a pit-bull, which also has a tendency towards aggression, it could become a dangerous dog, unless trained with a firm but gentle hand.

The Blue Heeler (or Australian Cattle Dog) should not be cropped if it is to be shown professionally, as the ears should be natural according to the official Breed Standard. What is the temperament of boxer crossed with blue heelers?

I have one. My dog needs lots of mental stimulation and physical exercise or else he becomes destructive and obsessive. He puts on weight very easily aswell (he is older, seems to be a heeler thing). He is tall and wide (40+ kilograms). He can be snappy towards children and savage towards other dogs. He is generally very obedient though and eager to please, but you just can't trust that unpredictable mean streak. I would recommend going against purchasing one of these types of dogs unless you have land where they can run around all day.

Is a white Australian Shepherd still a Australian Shepherd?

Color does not change the breed of a dog. Having said that, white Australian Shepherds should be discouraged and should never be purchased from a breeder. An Aussie that is mostly white may be a homozygous merle, also called a double merle. This means that both parents carried the merle gene. It may sound innocent enough, but double merle Aussies can be blind and/or deaf or have vision and hearing difficulties. Breeders who breed two merles together are not scrupulous breeders and aren't the sort of person you'd want to buy a puppy from. If you are interested in getting a double merle Aussie, rescues are a great place to look. Most people don't want these white Aussies because they may be deaf or blind, but they still make great pets and still need homes like any other dog. They act like any other dog, they just may need some extra care and consideration.
