"The original Batman" was a series simply called "Batman", it was released in serial style in 1943. Each episode was about 20 minutes long and you had to go to a theatre to watch it, b/c most people didn't have TVs back then.

Although vague rumours of Batman getting shot and beaten up are as said, somewhat vague, there is an eliment of truth. Two of batman's arch enemies (Of which two are unknown) collaborate to take down the caped crusader. Capturing the hero and torturing him with his own past until he lays on the ground, bound and vunerable. BUT NO!! surely not! this cannot be the end to our legendary idol... Unfortunatly it is. As Batman makes his meager escape, he is shot, quite graphically in the head by the most infamous of all of his enemies. It is an ending that will surely make all Batman fans weep. Its the end of an era.
