John Herbert Dillinger was born in Indianapolis, IN 6/22/03. At the time, his father owned and operated a small dry goods store in a portion of the city known as Brightwood. The area, once an independent town founded in 1876, was annexed by Indianapolis some twenty years later. Dillinger left Brightwood with his father and family around 1916, relocating some 15 miles south of Indianapolis in rural Mooresville, Indiana. Dillinger is buried at Crown Hill Cemetery on the near northweside of Indianapolis. Crown Hill is one of the larger facilities of its kind in the nation. Many famous and infamous personages have found their respective resting spots there. He's in section 44 in Crown Hill.

The story is that the original flag was made in 1776, by a group consisting of George Washington, Robert Morris and George Ross, a relative of Betsy. He allegedly visited her and expressed the urgent need for a flag. Betsy accepted the job and manufactured the flag, somewhat altering the committeeâ??s original design by changing the stars from six-point two five-point. This story did not come about until 34 years after her death when her last living grandson made this claim via letter to the Pennsylvania Historical Society. There were no other corroborating witnesses or information.
