What if father does not sign birth certificate?
Nothing happen's but the child will live with the tag of "father unknown" for the rest of their life. Paternity is presumed if the parents were married at the time of the child's birth. If the parents were not married, paternity can also be established by signing an acknowledgment of paternity or/and by genetic testing (DNA).
Does the father of the child get custody if his name is on the birth certificate?
If the parents are unmarried, simply being the name on the birth certificate doesn't bestow any custody rights. An unmarried father must establish his paternity in court and arrange for a custody hearing if he wants custody.
Generally, if the parents are unmarried the mother has sole custody and control in most states until the father can establish his paternity. Remember, a child's mother can always be identified by medical records. Since the father didn't give birth and he was not legally married at the time of the birth he must establish his paternity by signing the birth certificate at the time of birth (waiving DNA testing rights) which must be done with mother's consent. If he signs the birth certificate he may still need to establish paternity through DNA testing. If he doesn't sign the birth certificate then he must establish his paternity through a DNA test.
A paternity test can be arranged through the court. Once paternity has been established the father can request visitations, joint custody, full custody or the court will set up a schedule of regular child support payments for the child if she is to remain in the custody of her mother. The court will schedule a hearing and issue an order that is in the best interest of the child.

Could you have a two birth certificates with different names?
Yes, I myself have two birth certificates. The first is where I was actually born, New York. The second birth certificate is from Mexico and was requested by my father after I was born (apparently this is okay since I am a child of a Mexican citizen and therefore considered to be a citizen by the Mexican government).
The birth certificate is not something that gives him parental rights, he have to go to court for that and prove it by DNA test. A birth certificate does not require DNA so it does not hold up in court. So yes, if he has gone to court he has rights.

If my name is on birth certificate and not the father do i still have to pay child support?
Yes, even if the fathers name is not on birth certificate she can go to the local Child Support Enforcement & open up a case against him. It helps if you know the SSN, last or current job & last or current place of residency. This will help them move faster in getting what is owed to your child. If you don't have all or some of the information it will take longer. Hope this helps.
A foreigner who marries a Mexican doesn't automatically get Mexican nationality, but they can apply for Mexican nationality after only 2 years instead of waiting longer. For example, a foreigner (not married to a Mexican) who applies for Mexican nationality on the basis of Mexican residence has to wait 5 years.
How does your child's father sign over his rights even though he is not on the birth certificate?
In general, parental rights are terminated either preparatory to an adoption, or after a trial in which it is determined that the parent is unfit. In any case, termination of parental rights does not, in itself, terminate child support.

Can a mother sign the birth certificate without the father being present in Virginia?
In most states the Father must sign acknowledgement of parenity immediatley to be put on certificate and in some places Ive heard they must also get it notorized. If his name is wanted at a later time the state will issue a new one with proper parenity established.
First, don't pay anything until paternity is established. If the child is still a minor, you will most likely have to pay current (ongoing) support. However, based on the facts you describe, you have a good argument that you should not have to pay retroactive support.

Can you take a fathers name off a birth certificate without his consent?
You have provided no context for "your," but regardless, the answer is "yes" in all 3 cases! If it is "your" birth certificate or you are the mother, "your" name could have been entered incorrectly, so could technically apply. In the case of "your" being the father, sure, a dna test will get you started--but understand that it is very difficult, in any of the three cases, even when you can prove a mis-spelling, to accomplish this, and you have an uphill battle.
When did birth certificates start being typed instead of hand written?
The answer is different for each city, state or country. In general, the universal registering of births began in the late 1800s, although some places registered some births decades earlier than that.
For the period prior to the civil registration of births, baptismal records are used for genealogical purposes.
Did Barack Obama forge his birth certificate?
Of course not. His birth certificate has been verified repeatedly, by two governors (one Republican, one Democratic), the Attorney General, six major news networks (including Fox), all three major fact-checking sites, the doctor who delivered him, friends of Mr. Obama's mother, and numerous other reputable sources. Unfortunately, a group of people called "Birthers" refuse to accept that the president is an American who was born in Hawaii. But he is, and he was.
