Could be caused by any number of things. If you want to diagnose it yourself it is critical that you get some AC manifold gauges. Low side pressure should be anywhere from 35 to 45 psi or so, depending on several factors including the outside air temperature. The high side can also vary greatly, but after running for a while it will be somewhere between 150 - 300 psi.

If the low side pressure is low then you may need to add refrigerant. Check to see if the compressor's clutch on the front is spinning when the AC button is turned on in the cabin. Also, check to see that the fan on the very front of the car is spinning when the AC button is on. If both do not work, you may need to add refrigerant. If the compressor clutch is not spinning it may just be a bad relay, bad electrical connection, or bad compressor altogether. Same goes for the fan.

The Germans are very straight people and the technik is always more important than imagination or design. Except Z3!

What makes the Z3 an unique BMW is that the father (designer) was a Japanese, the base chassis is from E36 (a very reliable, strong and popular chassis) and the production was done for the first time in USA in Spartanburg.

Z3 will always be the first reliable and popular roadster of BMW, realized in a very cosmopolite world , the first roadster after the expensive roadster 507 (1956), keeping his shapes in a excellent retro style.

It will always be a collectible and a real roadster for normal peoples. Unisex and affordable.

The Z3 meaning is interesting and disarming simple: Z comes from "Zukunft" , in German means : future. And 3 is the version of the vehicle.

It is also one of the cars with the shortest Brand/Type name in the world: only 5 letters! try to find how many you will find!

It is a safety program which electronically controls the trajectory of your car when driving high speed in curves or making dangerous maneuvers to the steering wheel. The system works together with the ABS system. Doesn't save you if the speed is much too high but is really miraculous if you exceed not more then 10-20 mph the recommended speed or suddenly you try to avoid something on the road. Basically the system actuate the brakes on some wheels and cut the gas, disregarding what pedals you push at the moment.

The thermostat is in a housing just above the water pump on the front of the engine block. Follow the upper radiator hose, it goes right to it.

The air conditioner kit comes only factory mounted on the vehicle (z3). If you want to adapt some aftermarket kit it will be difficult and costly too. Better buy a z3 with AC, because any mal function can be repaired.

Filler/level plug is located on the gearbox

very similar to a manual box filler/level plug

there is no dipstick fitted to this model.

The best places that I can think of to find the information you are looking for would be to either speak with a local dealer that exclusively sells the BMW z3 or any dealer that has these cars available for purchase. Also, you may find this information in various reviews made by others or by the company itself. An authorized dealer would be your best bet, as they have specific knowledge of these types of cars.

There are no "bulbs" in the digital clock assembly. There are only 4 numbers of LED lights. Firstly, use a very thin screw driver to pry the clock assembly from the console. Once removed, detach the electrical socket from the clock. Then open the clock by loosening the plastic snap-ons. remove the mini "IC board" and you will see a series of 4 LED lights. Plug the electrical socket into the "IC board' to see which LED light is out. Buy similar colored LED from any electronic shop and replace it if you know how. If not, get it replaced at any electronic shop where they offer such service. Recommend to change all 4 LED lights. After changing the LEDs, snap the whole clock assembly together, attach the electrical socket and VOILA!!, it is done... Simple as ABC.

it may be the relay switch or a fuse blown check under the hood in fuse box #1 and fuse box #2.

Manual Shift Mode - off setting is fully automatic

Does it have an airconditioner ? Of course it does - 134a.

the general rule of thumb is at or around 100k miles. this varries with manufacturer, but it is best to always replace no later than 125k

under bonnet/ hood they are in a black plastic case to the rear right.

The most common cause is that the gas cap is not seating properly. If your gas cap is loose, re-seat it and wait two days to see if the light goes off, if it does not, see below....

There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.

"Yes, you can" (sounds very well known, no?), but it will be too expensive!

Beside the gear box you have to change allot of parts.

Better sale the car and buy one with automatic!

But the fun will never be the same ... no offense for automatic gear box lover!

It may be that your window needs to be adjusted. That is all it took with mine.

Fixed my serious (gallons) leak by removing the 2 rubber seals on each side of the top, sprayed them with a slicone rubber dressing and carefully fitted them back.
