Typically most heater/blower motors in passenger vehicles are located underneath the dash board or glove box on the passenger side, inside of the vehicle.

The most common cause is a dead cell in the battery which requires that the battery be replaced. It can also be a light on somewhere. Like and under-hood, glove box, trunk, curtorsey light, etc. Can also be a relay that is stuck.

The Battery is underneath the spare tire in the back just open the rear hatch you will need some tools to get to it but it is right underneath the spare. Disconnect the wires and put the new battery in and positive with positve and negative with negative it shouldn't take you more than ten minutes

Sounds like the security pin in the barrel has snapped, does it just spin round? or sometimes the steering lock causes it to stick. Do a search on bmwland.co.uk/talker for E36 ignition barrel for more info.

on most modern vechicules today you have a warning system on the brake pads that will screech while your foot is off the brake pedal and stop screeching when your foot is on the pedal.another way is depressing the brake pedal while in park and checking the pedal travel,if it is over half the way or more i would change the pads and check the rotors for runout and damage.

Both of these vehicles used the same starter and it doesn't matter if the 93 318is has the manual or automatic transmission. The part number is Bosch 12-41-1-740-379-M14.

There should be a height adjustment wheel on the dash besides the steering cowling, if not remove the front grills by carefully prying the clips off the top not forgetting to remove the Philips screws between the lower slats towards the outer edges of each grill. the headlamp adjustment is then adjusted via Philips screws located within the center of each mounting clips protruding out the front of the light bracket, there should be 3 per lamp.

The light will have to be turned off with a reset tool at a dealer, or by someone with the tool. It is likely that the fault code stored is due to a malfunctioning sensor in the drivers side seat belt connection. Part is around $175 with 1.5 hrs to install. It does have to be reset by either a mechanic or a BMW Stealer. The most common cause is the Passenger Occupancy Sensor Pad which affects 3 out of 5 Bmw's pre 2002. The cost of replacement is in excess of $500 but an alternative can be found on auction sites under BMW Airbag Sensor Bypass Unit.

The car came with two different transimissions. One has a dip stick and one does not. The one without a dip stick has a drop eye like a manual transmission and you check it by removing the plug.

If your car is an E30 ( 1983 - 1991 ) the oil level sender is located on the drivers side of the motor toward the front and down low below the alternator. It's in top of the oil pan. Unplug the wire connector and unscrew the sender. It has a fairly large black plastic round top. Pull it out of the oil reservoir and wipe it with a rag before taking it away from the hole. You might be able to clean it sufficiently to make it work correctly. To test it pull up on the float and test continuity ( ohm meter ) between the two leads. To install the new one clean off the surfaces, screw it in ( use a new rubber seal ) and plug the connecter back in.

You have to remove shifter boot( cloth around base of shifter. It has tabs holding it on, just pull up. You will see philips head screws holding the wood trim down, remove them. Remove trim and you will see 2 screws holding the ashtray/light assembly down remove and should pop up. remove the connector to the lighter and compress the 2 metal taps holding it in and it can be pushed out. reverse all procedures and your done.

Backup light switches are different between automatic and manual transmission bmws. If you have the automatic the switch is under the shifter. Disconnect the battery and remove the shifter boot. Unplug the switch wires and replace the switch and reconnect the wires and battery. If you have a manual transmission the switch is on the passenger side of the transmission above the Allen type filler plug. Disconnect the battery, unplug the wires and unscrew the switch with a 19mm wrench. Screw in the new one an torque it down then reconnect the wires and the battery.

Difficult to answer since you didn't include the type of transmission or year and model of car. Since you are asking I assume you have a manual transmission. To check the fluid in it you have to jack it up but evenly ( all four tires off the ground and the car level ) and climb underneath. There are two 17mm Allen plugs one on the bottom ( the drain plug ) and one on the passenger side above it ( the fill plug ). Take out the fill plug and put your finger in the hole. The fluid level should be right at the bottom of the hole so that if you put anymore in it would flow out. Since you are going through all this trouble and the fluid should be checked every 30K miles and changed every 60K miles you might want flush out and refill your transmission with new oil.
