I'm assuming you are referring to the fictional novel, Matched by Ally Condie?

It's a dystopian novel about a sixteen year old girl, Cassia, who lives in a world where everyone is matched by Society with a person who will become their lover. Their society is simplified by having only a hundred things of each aspect in history (eg. 100 poems, 100 pictures, 100 songs...) because they believe that the society before theirs (referring to time now) was too overcrowded with information.

Cassia is matched with her best friend Xander (a rare situation) but she becomes confused when society has made a mistake by giving her the information card (that everyone gets of their match) of another boy- Ky who is also her friend and an aberration (a person who cannot be Matched). She then falls in love with Ky instead of Xander and they form a strong bond through various events. Society has actually done this on purpose to see what happens and through the story, Cassia realises how bad society actually is (also hears of a rebellion). Ky is then taken to the outer provinces and the story continues as a trilogy (Crossed and Reached).

Most copies of The Shepherd of the Hills that are marked 1907 are later reprints and are worth less than $10. All first editions say Book Supply Company on the title page, have a rectangular illustration on the cover, and have the date in Roman numerals on the title page: MDCCCCVII. A very nice first edition is worth $25 to $50 without dust jacket. Rough copies are worth less. With dust jacket it might bring as much as $150-200.

Edit: Excuse me if I'm missing the inside joke, but the most read book to my knowledge is the Bible. It has been translated to almost every language, and printed well over five billion times. After that, I would say the Qu'ran, with at least one billion copies. Other books with a significant amount of printing include many books written by Mao Zedong, Such as "Quotations from Chairmen Mao"(AKA The little red book), "Chairman Mao's Poems", and "Selected Articles of Mao Zedong". Collectively these books have been printed well over one billion times. "A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens has sold over 200 million copies. Rising action is the series of events that lead to the climax of the story, usually the conflicts or struggles of the protagonist. This part of the Story map starts when Walt starts to think about the claim jumpers. This introduces conflict between Walt and the people in this new claim jumping group. The claim jumpers were coming and steeling the land of the people around Mazy May, The Conflict introduced in the rising action was than Man vs Man. "Walt was worried, however; the claim was liable to be jumped at any moment because of this delay, and a fresh stampede had started in on the Mazy May. He did not like the looks of the newcomers, and one day, when five of them came by with crack dog-teams and the lightest of camping outfits, he could see that they were prepared to make speed, and resolved to keep an eye on them. So he locked up the cabin and followed them, being at the same time careful to remain hidden."This shows how Walt Feels about the Jumpers. He is worried about them. This introduces the main conflict and sets life up perfectly for the Claim Jumpers.

Uh... *chuckle* yeah, he does... He was trying to protect Phillip from the tropical storm that came over the island by covering him with his own body. The water slashed his skin until he bled to death after the storm.

The book opens in the Netherlands, in Rotterdam, and a street urchin named Poke sees what she thinks is a two year old who is starving, but who hasn't given in to death. She can tell he is thinking, and trying to figure things out. She has a crew that she is trying to keep alive, and doesn't want him... says he isn't worth a bean.

The starving child has been observing the streets, trying to figure out why people are doing the things they are doing, and letting himself starve until he figures it out. He makes his move now, and comes up with an idea of how to keep her crew alive and safe without having to pay tributes of food to other starvelings that come along. She realizes that it might be a good idea, and actually give her crew a chance to survive long term, so she feeds him a few peanuts, and her crew decide he is worth one bean, which then becomes his name.

The crew tries his idea and they attack a bully, but the bully is really smart and it works out differently than they expected. The bully, Achilles, takes over the group by getting to know them and sharing some food with them. The chapter ends there, with Bean worried about whether the new crew boss will kill him.

Well at the end lee(luke) finds out that Jason is going to betray them all,so he calls a freind of his(mr.Talbit) to help him,so the next day mr.talbit shows up with some other population police and arrest Jason,saying that Jason was a third child.and with Jason they took Nina. and then the next book (Omong the betrayed) talks about Nina in the jail.
