And if he claims he is over you one week after breaking up, regardless of having been in a 2 year relationship with you, I hate to say this, but that means he had been detaching himself from you LONG before the relationship ended, which is why he seems to have gotten over you so quickly. It is very common for people that are abusive, depressed, alcoholics, drug addicts to want to stay with a mate that has gone through the same thing (or is like them.) They seem to find some bond. In fact, it's the worse thing that person can do. If they have managed to change any of the above bad habits, it's best to find a mate with none of these traits and their future is much more promising. When a person loves another they don't want to hurt that person and there are simply no excuses. People can control their anger if they put their minds to it. If they feel rage they can get out and go for a walk to cool off. Even though your girlfriend came from an abusive environment she is playing the "lame duck syndrome" using this as an excuse for her outbursts towards you. At any given time she could have gone to seek counseling for this problem and there are no excuses for not doing so, because abuse is talked about everywhere these days and she's well aware of it. It's just easier for her to go through life the way she is and expecting people to put up with her abusive behavior. If you try getting back with her then you are classified as an enabler and you're not helping her one bit. If you want to over-come your abusive nature then you must not see this young woman, get counseling of your own and move on. It doesn't sound like she wants help or she would have gotten it by now. Don't even think for a minute if you get the help and then try to help her it will work. She will probably be angry you did something about your abusive nature and will absolutely refuse to do anything about her own abuse problems. Sometimes we have to be brutally honest with ourselves and sometimes that means moving on from someone we love. When we look back a few months to a year or so later we really find that we had long ago stopped loving that person because the hurting never went away, nor the rage from the abuser. Good luck Marcy

Usually when a guy tells you that he needs time to figure things out that usaully means that they have some else but he just do'nt want to hurt your feelings it can be the same as a young lady telling a guy the same thing in fact they really done moved on ! Time heals all things. Which, unfortunately, is both good and bad. Life is very short, and no one really knows when his/hers will be over. My advice to you is not to dwell on this emotion you feel. Things will work out the way they are supposed to. Just enjoy the here and the now. Also know that when one door closes, another is opened. why does he need time to think things through? Is he wanting space between you both?

It will be a strain on the friendship if you do. Recognize that the friend "broke up" with her former boyfriend for what she perceived to be a valid reason. If you date him you're effectively saying that not only was she wrong, but you don't really care about her feelings. It gets real complicated, real fast. You'll likely loose the friend if you date him. You need to decide what's most important to you.

The wise and decent thing to do would be to respect this married man's decision and move on with your life. He did what he believes is right. The truth is, he doesnt really want you back. At times he may seem to want you back, but hes just using you until he finds someone new who can provide him with what ever it is he needs. Trust me on this one, ive been through it many times, and ended up alone.

it all depends on how you both feel about each other in the future, if in the future you both still fill a connection with one another, there is no question that it's a high possibility that the both of you will get married.

The best thing to do is start right now 'communicating' and sit down with her and ask her what she does mean by 'slowing things down' and that's a good step to a positive and successful relationship.

It is going to be hard because you have deep emotional feelings for him. I guess I don't understand why he is saying he "loves you" it's just not enough. True deep love is more then enough. Love can survive anything. If he "loves" you as much as he is claiming to there would be no room for a but after that. I really think that YOU deserve way more. I know that when you are hurt it's hard to see how great you are. You think thoughts like, I am not good enough or he would love me. It's not true!
