- Street vendor snacks in sold in the stands around Seoul. Sometimes 1,000 won can buy a substantial amount of these snacks, such as the red bean-paste filled bbong bung gyeong in winter (1000 won can buy 3 - 5, which can be quite filling). 1,000 won will also buy a hot-dog on a stick.
- A one-way ticket on the Seoul subway system a pretty good distance away (some 8 stops).
- A ride of comparable distance on a bus.
- An hour in a PC Bang (cyber cafe).
- 10 phone calls within Korea from a standard public telephone.
- A donut
- Two tries at an arcade game in a normal arcade.
- A wide array of cheap street vendor trinkets around Seoul.
- About 10 shots at a street shooting range.
- Three songs in a Karaoke booth.
- An hour in a Korean study center.
- Two small cans of soda.
- Two tries at a prize-spewing crane machine.
- Obviously, 1,000 won will not get you much outside simple pleasures, short rides on public transportation, and delicious snacks. It won't even get you a US dollar. But string several 1,000 won bills together and you've got yourself a pretty full day of simple and filling entertainment in Seoul if your tastes aren't too extravagant. At least cheap, if ephemeral, entertainment is readily available in all corners of Seoul, unlike other industrialized nations.

There are no European wide schedules of vacations. Each country has its own dates for school finishing, for example. However the month of August is generally recognized across most of Continental Europe as the vacation month. Traditionally businesses closed for the month although that is rare now.
Many European countries have a more relaxed approach to workplace rules in comparison to America, most notably Spain and France. In these countries two or three hour lunch breaks are normal, running late to a meeting isn't always a problem, and having five or six weeks of vacation each year is average.

Usually, McDonalds breakfast goes from 6 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. However this can vary depending on where you live- a very heavily trafficked McDonalds might open for breakfast earlier than 6, and may run out of breakfast food and have to start serving lunch earlier than 11. It all depends on where the store is located.
Usually, the franchise ends breakfast at 10:30 a.m. and begins preparations for lunch.

No, you should not have to take out a credit card in your name for business use. Also, if you do this and something goes wrong with the company, YOU will be responsible for the credit debt.
If the company wants to use credit cards, it should take them out itself and supply these business cards to its staff.
However, a company can require you to accept responsibililty for a company credit card issued for your use. Many companies make it a condition of employment to use the company credit card for official travel and purchases. There is nothing they can do to force you to take the card, but they can fire you for not complying with company policies.
