I don't think anyone will be able to answer this question unless you tell us who or what "oggy" is. You might want to be a little more specific.

I have always heard that you should have 2 pet rats. I disagree i think you should get what you think you can handle. I have had 2 rats at a time 4 and 1. The ones who have partners seem to be more attached to the other rat, but if you have 1 it is more attached to you. If you dont have much time to play with them i would get more than one! But if you will have tons of time to give to them i would get one. I hope this was helpful!

The difference between mice and rat droppings is the size. Rat droppings will be the size of a raisin while mice will be about the size of a single grain of rice.

I let my daughter have 2 pet mice. she forgot to feed them and they were dead within 4 days. this said though, they were in a very warm room and the heat may have not helped. they did not attempt to eat each other though, which i found interesting.

The male should have been separated from the female before she gave birth. But if you didn't do that, then the male should be separated before the female is done giving birth because females go into postpartum estrus (heat) after giving birth and can become pregnant again immediately. If the male is with her after giving birth, then she is most likely pregnant again. Back to back pregnancies can possibly kill the female or lead to babies less likely to survive.

Technically, yes you probably could use Purell hand sanitizer on a pet mouse without killing it. However, you would need to keep the mouse from grooming until the sanitizer evaporated off to prevent potential intoxication of the mouse. In general, mice keep themselves very clean and don't need to be washed or sanitized by their owners, so I wouldn't suggest doing this.

It would be a good idea for you to use the Purell on your own hands after handling your pet mouse, though - mice carry Salmonella in their intestines that can make you sick if you aren't careful about hand hygiene.

Yes, rats are very adept at escaping. They learn to open cage doors, can climb walls and surfaces that you would believe impossible to climb and they fit through tiny holes. So a safe cage is a must and if you let the rats run free, watch them at all times. Don't take them outside because it only takes a bird flying overhead to frighten them and they can run faster than you.
